Survivor 7: Discussion Thread

It is almost here. Survivor 7 looks like it has potential to be a lot of fun for us. The Main contest rules have been posted and the first Bonus Question is available. I will post the first set of questions for the main contest after the first show airs. Look for them on Sunday, September 21, as that is the day I return from vacation. Meanwhile feel free to use this thread for any pre and post show discussion of the events that take place as Survivor 7 begins.....

Inquiring minds want to know- will we have another young spoiled brat group that refuses to work? Will the oldsters go first or will they prove to be strong and capable members of their teams? Will the Scout Master lady be the first to start a fire? Will the mortician start some strange conversations? Will they all skinny dip, since they are being stranded with just the clothes on their backs? Is that hairy guy a character or not? Will the attorney be a raging bore? Have these 16 learned anything from previous Survivor shows or will they make the same mistakes? (trying to run things and being voted off for being annoying..etc.)

I sure hope we don't have continuous (and very boring) storm coverage right on through Survivor.

Big grin

It's great to have Survivor back. I found the show tonight very entertaining.
My man Rupert seems like quite a character. I hope he lasts for awhile because he is going to provide us with lots of laughs.
I was really expecting Ryan S to be voted off tonight. He doesn't seem to fit in with the men or the younger women, only has Lillian to befriend him.

Great show! I absolutely loved the beginning! What a twist to start the show out just like it would be if they really were stranded on an island. Those guys jumping in the water with their suits on was unbelievable! But how many people get stranded on a island with a village nearby and have money to buy things? lol Still it was cool. I loved the bargaining in the village. It reminded me of a cross between Amazing Race and Survivor. How fun would that be?!?!
Love Rupert! He thinks like I do....lol

Glad to see Nicole go since she proved to be so untrustworthy right off the bat. I sure thought Ryan S. was going though. I mean, when your team leader singles you out, you gotta be thinking that the whole team is going to vote that way. He got lucky!

What was up with those guys taking their clothes off during the immunity challenge? I thought that when they talked with Osten about his pants hanging down all the time it was supposed to be because none of them wanted to see him eventually walking around naked!? I couldn't figure out why they did that.

I don't think Jon on the Drake tribe is going to last long. Seems they are already ticked off at him. He thinks he is funny, they think he is obnoxious.

And Jeff Probst is still cute as ever!

It was such a great show last night. This looks like the best Survivor yet. I really like Rupert already. Loved it when he stole the other teams shows to get stuff in the market place. Jon does seem extremely annoying. Drake seems to definately have the better team.

For those that missed it, maybe CBS will replay it again this weekend, they seem to do that with the first episodes.

try taping it again chippers, maybe your hubby could stay up to make sure the tape starts at the right time

I missed the very beginning, getting home from a hurricane party. I saw them in the village and thought rupert was hysterical, my 8 yo calls him hagrid becuase he is big and hairy like hagrid in harry potter I couldnt beleive he stole the shoes. I would never have thought of doing that.

I think they made a mistake getting rid of nicole over ryan s. it seems that when they pick someone to go and they dont vote them off that time they end up sticking around for a long time!!

looking forward to seeing the very beginning on sunday

karen - very excited about a new survivor

I started a tribe in the Fantasy League at CBS website. If anyone would like to join me, [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

Email me for the tribe name and password if you would like to play along. They are giving away tshirts, hats and the grand prize is a truck.
You won't need to join a public tribe since we were automatically assigned to one when I started our private tribe.

I think that the other 2 told Osten that if his shorts came off they didn't want him to be embarassed (sp?) by himself so they would take theirs off too. I asked my ds why Osten just didn't put his pants back on and he thought that he sold all his clothes including his pants in town. I would like to know the brand of his boxers because the elastic sure didn't last very long and would not want to buy that kind for my dh. LOL

We also thought the show was great, and we love Rupert at our house too. We were so excited when they came from behind and won. Can't wait for next Thursday.

From the premiere, this is looking to be a promising season! Rupert was sure on his game! Sandra was GREAT and sure an asset to have in the marketplace! Drake had everything together from the get go. Morgan just could not get it together. I do like Andrew, but being leader sure puts him in a vulnerable position....history on Survivor has shown that.

Yes, Osten bartered his clothing for supplies.

I was bummed by the lack of excitement when Jeff was splitting the players up into the tribes. Maybe they were all still in shock from his announcement about the game starting now without their belongings. At least they got their tennis shoes.

Dh had a softball game (too late for me to go with the kids on a school night) so he set it up to tape, but the timer function isn't working. And then a friend wanted to make sure we were taping it because they're in the midst of making an offer on a house and had to go do paperwork. Needless to say, they were all out of luck with the tape, so good thing it'll be on again Sunday.
