CBS Stays in 'Race' for a 4th Lap

HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - CBS is getting ready to run another leg of "The Amazing Race."

The network has committed to a fourth installment of the Jerry (news - web sites) Bruckheimer-produced reality series, which has proven to be a solid performer on Wednesdays. Casting has already begun on "Race 4," which will likely bow early next year and continue the format of teams of two circling the globe in a mad dash for cash.

The current "Race" has had a tough time opposite ABC's red-hot "The Bachelor," but it continues to dramatically improve on its "60 Minutes II" lead-in among key demographics -- including by 38% in adults 18-49 (3.6 rating vs. 2.6). It's also one of the best-reviewed of the current crop of reality shows.

CBS will air this week's "Race" an hour earlier than usual, at 8 p.m., to make room for the "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" at 9
p.m..

The big question is does DOD have a commitment from Chippers?????

LOL DOD has no worries where I am concerned. If the mayor is willing to give us some kind of gift certificate, I will run another contest when the time comes. If not, I will have to do a glory only contest just for all of us Amazing Race fanatics. I actually like Amazing Race better than Survivor now, and I really like Survivor alot.

Come clean Hattielee!!! You work for CBS don't you??? You are kicking everyone's butt in this contest and I remember you doing the same in the Big Brother 3 Contest and the Mole Contest (which I know is on ABC but still). I haven't checked the pt totals for Survivor but I bet you are doing awesome there too!!!

You must work for CBS and get advance knowledge what is going to happen on the shows!!!

Vickie IS really great at all these reality tv contests. The good news is that the ones for the gift certificates this time around require only that you have "some" points to go into the drawing with a chance to win. While having alot of points, as Vickie always does, increases your odds, it is no guarantee of anything.

ROFLMAO Yeah Jerry Bruckheimer and Mark Burnett are my close personal friends! LOL Pandy accused me of the same thing. Hey I'm just having a good season. My scores last season were dismal! This year I'm thinking maybe I should head to Vegas.

Exactly! Someone with "some" points will probably end up winning.
The one exception may have been last season when a certain someone ran away with all the points. Wasn't it something like a 1000 pts with PHred's crazy scoring and a great Ultimate winner pick?

Yes hattielee/Vickie. I must confess i would never use Phred's scoring technique and I was openly critical of it at first. But by picking the couple that everyone "hated" to go all the way I scored tons of points and REALLY enjoyed that Amazon gift certificate.

There is hope everyone. I won an Amazon GC on another board for a BIg Brother contest and I didn't have all that many points. I'll admit that the odds are a lot better if you rack up a lot of points but you CAN win with only one. Good news for those who can't keep up to Hattielee.

Just clever guessing??? Hmmm...I don't know if I buy that or not!

(I remember last years Amazing Race contest too...didn't Chippers have thousands and thousands of pts more than the second place person?)

Maybe it is just me...I also read tons of mystery novels and can rarely guess who-dun-it. Like now...I am thinking it will be Ted to win it all on Survivor...that means he'll probably be voted out soon! Oh well! Good luck guys!
