Promotion/Advertising Question

Hello Everyone!

Does anyone have any tips on how to advertise a blog? I've done the initial homework (technorati, blog rolls etc) but I want to reach a Canadian audience. I can't post my blog on deal forums because it's considered as spamming.

As of now I do not have the money to pay for advertising but I would like to get hits in the thousands. It's still pretty new and I am excited about it.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to reach a wider Canadian audience? My theme is budget fashion and beauty.

There are so many ways.
I have 2 blogs and I love promoting them.
You can add the link on your signature of all the message boards your in (if they allow that)
I have found that it's a good way to get more readers.
Have you tried sites like blogcatalog.com?
I have found that some of my readers have found me through that as well.

first of all find the do- follow blogs related to budget fashion and beauty that target canada audience .Then post the comments on those blogs with a link of your blog , you can promote your blog by social bookmarking and forum submission.

do some press releases - there are still some free services left and many times you can add a link.

I still get visitors and sales from the ones I sent out 4 and 5 years ago.

Go on to Squidoo, Hubpages or even better EzineArticles.com. Write articles about tips related tot he topic of your blog. The idea is to make the information useful for the reader.

Then in the resource box, ad your blog's URL.

Ezine Articles is the best article directory, but they have a strict approval process. You cannot straight out promote products in your article. That is considered spammy. Instead write about tips. For example, 5 ways to save money at the grocery store. You list those five ways.

Then in the resource box say, "If you found these tips helpful, I invite you to find out other ways you can save money by visiting my [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] blog'snameis.com.

Ezine articles takes 7 days to approve your articles, but the traffic picks up fast! that's because they get 15 million unique visitors per month.
