Question HELP! I'm VERY Embarrassed to ask!

Hi all you wonderful folks out there in this DEAL of the DAY forum!

I'm hoping someone out there might give me some ideas/suggestions on payday loans. Because of a pretty nasty divorce I'm really running short on funds. Because of credit problems, a traditional bank slams the door in my face.

Does anyone know of a good PAYDAY LOAN company? I really hate to go this route, but really at this point, I don't see any other choices. I know it will cost me lots more than I want it to, but rent, electricity, water, etc. can not wait. I've done searches for them - my gosh I did not know there were 1000s of them. If you know of any good ones, would you be kind enough to let me know.

I really appreciate any recommendations that you might have. Thanking you in advance for your responses.

Kindest Regards,
Diane

I realize that you posted this 2 months ago, but if you still need help, check into a program called HEAP. Each state has its own branch of this & it is to help pay for utilities. It is not money that you need to pay back & is (I believe) a one-time deal. I hope things are doing better.

Thumbs up Re: HELP! I'm VERY Embarrassed to ask!

Dear Diana- I know a few months have gone by but I hope you have not resorted to payday loans. First thing is interest rates can run as high as 100%. Usually you pay $20.00 to $25.00 for every $100.00 and payment is due every two weeks (most employees get paid every 2 weeks). If you are approved for say $500.00 you must pay back $600.00 2 weeks later. You can just pay the interest of $100.00 or as much as you can pay and then 2 weeks later the same thing. You need to have a some kind of income to cover these loans otherwsie you will find yourself more in debt and in a vicious circle. BOTTOM LINE stay away from payday loans.
Sign up for state relief at your local state Human Services dept. It is money you have put into the system from all your past pay check deductions. Now your in need.
Call your local United Way. They have listings off all social services, social agencies and other resources for the public.
Hope this is not too late. I am a vocational counselor for the State of New Mexico and I am always helping individuals/clients out in the very same situation you are in. Hang tough and things sould work out. Let me know!!
