Ac Neilson's Homescan Panel (??)

I have been invited to participate in the AC Nielson’s Homescan Consumer Panel. I just received my scanner today. Does anyone know anything about this program? Anyone ever/is doing it? I haven’t really gotten into the directions yet, but there seems to be a lot of items you can win off of points (I did flip through the catalog!). Has anyone won (received enough pts) to get anything? Does it appear to be legit?
Any feedback negative or positive would be greatly appreciated!

I got called about it and they are going to send me a scanner by mail. Have you been doing it since February, when you posted? How has it been going? Have you received anything to make it worth the effort?

i have been a member for around 2 years. the points add up real slow. i still have not turned them in.
you have to install a program on your computer and then you transmit each week of your purchases.
it is time consuming but you get used to it after awile.
it is just a pain when the scanner doesnt want to transmitt each time each week.

points take a long time to make. and what i have not even been able to get to is a $200.00 gift after 2 years.

That's too bad! I just did a search and found many comments about ac nielson homescan on **************. They said that you get 150 pts/wk for 6 mo, 200 from 6 mo to 1 yr, 225 pts per weekly scan from 1 to 2 years, and at 6 years, 325 pts/scan. Someone said points are worth about $1.00 for 1,000 points if you compare regular prices to what you can "earn" with them. That means in the first year, I can earn a whole $7.80, $10.40 2nd year, $11.70/yr. for 3rd & 4th yrs., and for 6th year, can earn $16.90.

Some people completely hate it, others like it O.K. Nobody loves it. Some say they get extra points for surveys, and they do 1 per week. Some say other survey or scanning programs are more rewarding.

Are you signed up for other survey or scanning companies that are easier?

They mentioned that MVP, also by AC Nielson, is easier. THey mentioned shoppers hotline scanner program is easier (just groceries) and that NFO surveys are more rewarding and easier.
