Red face HELP: I'm very embarrassed to Ask

This is a repeat to a post I sent to - I believe the wrong place to post this....My apologies that it will be in here twice. I don't want to offend anyone...just needing a bit of help - I'm sure we've all been there!

I'm hoping someone out there might give me some ideas/suggestions on payday loans. Because of a pretty nasty divorce I'm really running short on funds. Because of credit problems, a traditional bank slams the door in my face.

Does anyone know of a good PAYDAY LOAN company? I really hate to go this route, but really at this point, I don't see any other choices. I know it will cost me lots more than I want it to, but rent, electricity, water, etc. can not wait. I've done searches for them - my gosh I did not know there were 1000s of them. If you know of any good ones, would you be kind enough to let me know.

I really appreciate any recommendations that you might have. Thanking you in advance for your responses.

Kindest Regards,
Diane

I've been there and done that. They're all very close to the same. Call a few near you and see if there's any difference in the fees/charges. Other than that, there's not much difference. My best advice is: Don't do it unless you absolutely must. Don't borrow any more than you absolutely must have. Do pay it off as quickly as possible! If not, you'll find yourself in over your head very quickly. Good luck and I hope things improve for you.

Hi,
I haven't used them, but before you do, have you thought of trying for help at your local Human/Social Services Office? They do have people there to help and at times, can give out groceries and/or grocery vouchers/gift cards as well as help with your electric bill and such - heating too. Worth a try and sure can't hurt. In any case, good luck to you.

Yes, she's right. Get all of the help you can first. Local churches are often helpful. Often the DHS can put you in touch with such charities even if you don't qualify for any kind of Federal or State benefits. This is why we pay taxes and contribute to charities. Don't be ashamed to ask for help if you're the one who needs it right now. You can pass it on to others when you're doing better.

You two are wonderful! I want to THANK YOU very much for your sugestions. Believe it or not I work for the State! So unfortunately I "make to much" to qualify for any kind of aide. So far I've been "talking myself out of it" and so far am getting through each day (and waiting for payday!! my tax return & of course! this "extra" money the govt is giving us!) taking one day at a time. I'm a single woman baby boomer taking care of an ill parent, I get desperate at times! I really don't want to have to do it....Thanks again for your suggestions & votes of confidence!! GOD bless you both!
Kindest Regards,
Di

Re: HELP: I'm very embarrassed to Ask

Many think they do no qualify for help but many do because of their situation instead of income. Please try before going to payday loans.Caretaking a parent is stressful even during times when you are not already under stress.Sending prayers your way.Right now with many dealing with money issues some crediters are more willing to work with people.Talk with your electric company and other utilities about how they can help you and who else can help. Some programs will work with you because you care for a parent.I know that my Mom got help many years ago from a group called displaced homemakers after my parents divorce. They know who to call to get help even though my parents had money but Mom was overstreched because of the divorce.
