online data entry from home, legit or not?

Hi all,

I just wondered about those online data entry jobs that are available to do from home. I do the online surveys for money and don't really make a whole ton of cash there and I would like to work and make some money from home since I am home with 2 kids anyway.

Anyone do those online data enty jobs from home and find it legit or not and what companies did you go through.

Also a lot of these places charge you $50 or more to get started is this typical or are there free sites to join and make money?


Just thought I could help out my hubby where I can but I don't want to get scammed.

I have been wondering the same thing. I am not going to pay anyone for a job. I would like something that I could do from home without having to fork out money first.

Let me know what you find out if you come across a legit work from home job. All I see so far have entry fees of about 75.00 to join and who knows if you will ever make that money back. I have no idea if it is piece meal work or paid by the amount of time spent entering in data on the computer or what but I would like to do something like that from home too.

There are a lot of work at home jobs on the net and most of them require a registration or membership fee. Those that asks for money are definitely not a legit job. So beware of those. However there are other site that pays you just by reading emails or clicking ads. And no worries since they do not ask for any payment at all. You just have to be careful when joining.

Only jobs I've found working at home are calling people, or waiting around for someone to call you. Kind of hard to keep the kiddies quiet while you're on the phone =( I've been trying Yuwie and Big Crumbs, but I'm too new at them to let you know how much I'll make. If you do consider an online company PLEASE check them out on Ripoffreport.com first. That place will give you consumer complaints against a company and let you know if it's a scam! Good luck!

First, jobs aren't suppose to be paid. It should be the other way around. If these 'online work at home' things you find requires you to pay then don't do it. I personally had my first freelance job (legit one) and has been hired full time for him. But it took long before I actually had that first job. So if you need to find one, patience is the answer. ^_^

Any offer that tells you to pay them to get started is not legit and is most likely a scam.
I would venture to say that 90 percent of these so-called 'work-from-home' offers are scams. Just remember one very basic rule - if it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true.
