Does anybody know a really good free online antivirus checker?

AVG is freeware - it works very nicely. I personally disabled the email component because no one should open any attachments from people they don't know!

I'm with Toby - we use AVG too, though it's a paid anti-virus, and I'm not sure what the difference is. We've used others in the past and this is the best one we've had.

Could you please answer me another query? At the past weekend, I spent several hours browsing the net, trying to find a website where I could make an online checking and I found one called "infectedornot.com", which apparently is owned by Panda, do you know it? Is it reliable?

I use Zonealarm. Works GREAT!!! It's a little annoying at first because it seems like it thinks EVERY site is suspicious and everything you are doing is suspicioius and you have to click an acceptance or denial of programs/downloads/even things done offline but once it's done one or two times it remembers it and will not allow unknown users to intrude while still allowing you to have the ease of using your computer to go to your regular "safe" sites daily.

im gonna agree with the avg free edition... chipheads and geek squad the two computer fixer upper places (lol) here both use it when fixing peoples computers not to mention everyone i know has it and loves it it works great we love it because we download alot of games and if theres anything wrong with the files it tells ya right away

I have Spybot on my computer. It works good for me though. Instead some antivirus software before not to mention it's brand however it slowed down my computer speed. Now with spybot it protects my computer from any spyware or viruses and maintain the speed of my computer. You can download it for free from the net .

SpyBot is great but it does not protect you from Virus attacks.
i have used it for many years and love the teatimer part as it will not allow anything to change the registry without you knowing. Again though it does nothing for virus protection.

I use AVAST on this one never had a issue. I use McAfee on the other 3 computers in the house because it is free when you have Comcast. I would use it on this one too but sadly it does not support 64bit systems.
I used Norton for years and it is ok but it clogs up your system and when or if you decide to change it is a son of a booger to get totally off your system.
