Disneyworld Tips??

I just made the reservations. We're not
going until November (25th through Dec. 1st), but I like to plan
ahead...some might say over-plan.

Seeing as I've never been, I would love to hear any tips or tricks.
We're going to be there for 6 days, and we are staying at Shades of
Green, the military resort right on the property. It's right by The
Grand Floridian and The Polynesian. Oh, and apparently, this is not well known about...so if you are military or retired or a federal employee, check it out because it's much cheaper than the other resorts and the rooms are bigger ([Only registered and activated users can see links. I have read a bunch of tips on different websites, but I know that the DoD members are often extra helpful when it comes to vacations like this. We are a family of five. The kids will be ages 10, 8, and 4. So what things are the absolute...you can't miss it...coolest things to do?

Re: Disneyworld Tips??

I worked at Disney World for 10 years, and my husband still does, so if there is anything I can help you with I would love to. We live in the west Orlando area and have triplets 4 1/2 years old, so have been visiting the parks alot lately, too. What do you want to see when you are here?

Re: Disneyworld Tips??

My favorite rides to check out are:
Expedition Everest (new rollercoaster) - Animal Kingdom
Nemo ride & Turtle Talk - the whole family will love them! - Epcot
Rockin' Roller Coaster - MGM
Tower of Terror - MGM
Buzz Lightyear ride - Magic Kingdom (everyone will love this, too!)

Our favorite places to eat are:
Japan - this was closed for renovation when we were just there (last week), but I would think it would be back open by the time you go - it is one of those cool places where they cook on the "table" grill in front of you!
Hoop de do revue - in Frontierland - dinner show
Sci-Fi Drive in Theater - so cool! you eat in "cars" in their own nighttime theatre

Hope that helps!

Re: Disneyworld Tips??

A nice park to check out is the Disney/MGM Studios. They have really retooled it to cater to the kids. If your kids are into Playhouse Disney, Cars, Monsters Inc., the Muppets, Ariel, Beauty & the Beast, Power Rangers, Kim Possible, etc., this is one park to check out! I used to consider this park pretty "sterile" but it has become more colorful and friendly to the whole family.

Re: Disneyworld Tips??

If you have never been to Disney World then obviously the best way to go is to get the speed pass and park hopper. That way you get visit all the parks and not having to worry about wasting time standing in the lines.

Re: Disneyworld Tips??

I would highly suggest that you get some coupons and coupon codes and buy tickets early. Also, check out eBay for tickets and such for great savings. eBay??? YES...
