| Computer Question Hi all, I have a question that is a little hard to describe. I have Windows XP if that helps. I want to know how to change my options so that when I type something in a box, such as a username or a search box, the list pops up below the box of things you have typed in there previously. I know my computer used to do that but does not anymore and I don't know where to change it, but I'm sure it is just a box to check somewhere. Please help or ask if I need to describe it better. Thanks.

| Re: Computer Question Hi, I have XP too, do you mean when you're using a search engine like google, or mamma? LOL I know it's hard to explain on here. Kat ![]()

| Re: Computer Question Tell me if this is what you are referring to: To change the number of days that webpages are kept in the browsing history In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options. Click the General tab. Under Browsing history, click Settings. Under History, specify the number of days you would like Internet Explorer to remember the webpages you have visited. (You can set it to 99). Click OK twice.

| Re: Computer Question No Toby Lee, It seems I have that set okay. Items do show under my address bar when I type them in. My history is okay. I'm talking about in google or yahoo when I type in the search box. Or when I visit a site I have been to before, I would start to type in my username and a list of names would appear under the box that I have used before. I know my computer used to do this and doesn't anymore. Does that make sense?

| Re: Computer Question I think I know what you are talking about. I tried to look for an option, but cannot locate it. It would "save" your information, whether it be a user ID or whatever, and then as you type it, the little drop-down box would show up for you to select it? I tried to go in Internet Explorer under Tools---Internet Options---Advanced---Browsing---Use inline AutoComplete. I tried it and I don't think it worked or me, but that is where I would have thought it would be. I may have turned mine off elsewhere? If you want to try that. You might even need to reboot to have it take effect? I hope that would fix it for you, but if not sorry I couldn't be of any better help.

| Re: Computer Question Hi, It sounds like auto complete, that would post all your info into the places you wanted it to, without you having to type it in? Is that it? Or is it actually something to do with a search engine? Kat

| Re: Computer Question Thank you all so much for trying to help with this. It looks like all these things did work well. That last suggestion, whaddadeal, is what I was looking for for the usernames, etc. I love how it anticipates what web address I'm typing now too. Thanks again!!
