Err my desktops run on UPSs... So they are on batteries as well

Like its been already said.. the faulty batteries have been recalled. Poor Sony.. Losing money on all these batteries and now all that money spend on the PS3 :P

Funny thing is my Laptop battery died about 1 week before the big recall anouncement... (it was not on the list of recalled units.) I guess it died in sympathy of its cousins.....

See ya..

Re: Be safe and take battery out of notebook

hahaha But I already have a battery for it

I hardly ever reboot it.. I suspend lots of times take it home and go to work
Suspend and unsuspend plug it up when it gets 50%. Home PCs never shutdown unless a power failure that exceeds UPS runtime.....

They reboot everyonce in a while.

Re: Be safe and take battery out of notebook

Is that available for new batteries too? My laptop is 2 months old and I don’t remember any advice like that coming from the vendor. I’m using it for P2P (God forbid) and I almost never turn it off. Looks like I have to rethink my strategy. Don’t they have a safe circuit for disengage the battery when using AC power?
PS … yes it’s hot down there.

Re: Be safe and take battery out of notebook

I think it isn't possible because every laptop stops charging battery when it reaches its charging limit.
