My Dad may have cancer

My dad went to the doctor today and was told that the tests he had done a month ago showed some burns on his vocal cords that could be cancer. The news gets worse, he was also told that there is a strong possibility that the cancer (if that is in fact what it is) could have spread into the lungs. If this is the case then they told him that it is possibly past the stage of help and there would be nothing they could do to help him. They are sending him to 2 doctors next week to confirm the findings. Monday he sees a lung specialist and Friday he will see a GI doctor. l can't handle the thought of losing him. He has been there for me through everything. I love him so much. He told me that since he works here at the USEC plant he knows that the inevitable is that everyone gets some sort of cancer and he is just another one. 3/4 of his friends/co-workers have had or have died with cancer. My dad will be 60 this July. He has 2 grandchildren that he has to see graduate and get married. Please pray that the doctors are wrong and that whatever this is will be something that can be treated and he will have many more years ahead of him.

billsmrs I feel for you for what you are going through right now and what is in store if the diagnosis is lung cancer. I just lost my Mother in law to lung cancer last Thursday. It is a terrible disease. She was diagnosed in November of 2000. They said that she had 6 months. She lived for another 17 months so we were blessed to have extra time with her. I hope that the doctors are wrong and that this is not the case with your father. I will be keeping your father and your family in my prayers!

I can't imagine a doctor telling you that without any confirmation, but it appears he must be somewhat sure of the outcome for him to explain this to you.

I remember the day that my dad came over to tell me he had cancer. <sob> God gave me two more years with him, and I cherished every day I had with him. He eventually ended up coming to live with us in our home for the last year. Even the days when I was tired from being up with him all night and he got on my nerves, I reminded myself that one day would come when I would wish he were pestering me. To this day I see him in my dreams and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him. He was my BEST friend, more so than my mother who divorced him years ago. We shopped together, hunted for bargains, and yes, cooked and shared recipies!

God has sent you a message. Take advantage of this gift and make wonderful memories. Don' t leave anything unsaid.

Well, he saw the 2 docs he was scheduled to see. The lung doc ordered some more tests but told him he thought that the spot on is lung was scar tissue..from what who knows. He still wants to do another cat-scan and some more blood work. Then the gastro doc told him that there is the real possibility that he has the cancer in his throat . He is to have a barium swallow to check for any blockage....and then next Thursday (May 9th) he will be having a endscope done. This will be the defining test. He told dad if he has cancer he will know after this. He told him he would take a biopsy and he would be able to see the tissue and examine the knot in his throat and really look at the vocal cords too. Keep him in your prayers. He's not out of the woods yet but we are hoping we will have a real diagnosis very soon. Thanks to everyone!

My prayers be with you and your family strongly at this time I do hope your Dad is one of the people being handled by an attorney that has the suit agaginst USEC a friend of mine lost her DH a couple of years ago due to Lung cancer he also worked at USEC seems everyone ever worked there has some sort of illness I believe it's a shame what the company did to endanger everyones health that worked there and surrounding area and hate to think the outcome if they hadn't got caught

Well the endo went fine. They didn't find any signs of cancer in the esophagus or stomach. They ended up stretching his throat and told him he needs to see an ENT for the knot in there and for the burns on the vocal cords.

He is still having some difficulty but they told him that until he sees an ENT there is nothing that can be done. The doctor that did the endo said he wasn't trained to do anything or check the vocal cords. He told dad that if the burns on the vocal cords are serious it could be really bad news and he needs to get in ASAP at the ENT.

Dad is sick and tired of doctors and we are trying to get him in to see the doctor. Pray that he will give in and let us make the appt. he is tired of being put through tests and wants to wait and see what happens. I can't express to him that this isn't something you do.

He went to the lung doc on Monday and he gave dad a clear bill of health on the lungs....he said he thought that spot was scar tissue but wants to check him again in 3 months.

That is some promising news in the making Yes he really needs to see an ENT it's very important and they can only stretch the esophagus so many times before wearing it to thin My prayers still remain with you and your family and for your dad to get the strenghth he needs to get the rest of the test If my Dad hadn't went to doc when i begged him too they would have not found the cancer until too late Keep up your strenghth

My name is Bishop Gary W. Emas. Today I woke an had chest pains on my right side an he told me to watch Benny Hinn and I did and God instantly healed me . I say this to say that sometimes it has to be the day. We can't decide when and where only God has that table for your Dad. I am also a faith healer and Messianic Jew for Christ. I pray through transference 1000 miles away.and the Lord said that in the last tri- mester that she would have a new heart and lungs. I met that girl in her early 20's and that baby is growing in her and is going to be beautiful."Remember he is still in the healing business today.
