Prayers Requested for My dad

I am asking for prayer request for My Dad
about 2 weeks ago he noticed a lump on his left side by the rib cage it did not bother him but continued to grow on a daily basis well it finally astarted bothering him some so he went to doc doc told him it looked like a fatty tumor and did xrays well the xrays came back abnormal and he is scheduled for a cat Scan monday i am just hoping and praying that its the least of things maybe just a fatty tumor or even a hernia thats not good but its better than what it makes out to be

Thanks everyone Dad couldn;t handle the CT Scan he is very clastaphobic and he has a dr appointment Mon unfortunatly I will not be here i am going out of town so I pray that God will be with him and let this be good news

Well I was away for the past week visiting my Mom in Ohio while away dad went through a series of XRays and Ct Scans and Bloodwork the knot on his side was a Fatty Tumor but what they found on the Xrays looks like Cancer (Not official as of yet) thats the reason for all the test Dad of course told them he did not want to be operated on but the Dr feels if this is Cancer that they caught it in the Very early Stages this is still very frightening I don't know what to do or how to react if this is Cancer Please keep us in your prayers Thank You

About 5 years ago my father got pnemonia (sp) and they did a cat scan and found a growth on his lung. Well, after several tests it was lung cancer. I read everything I could on lung cancer and the survival rate was NOT good, at all. He had to have a third of his lung removed and was a champ through it all. The doctor was very encouraging, he said he was sure they got it in the early stages. Bottom line...

HE MADE IT!!! The doctor said that if he made it two years we were in the clear, and sure enough he did.

We lost him last year...but it was NOT DUE TO CANCER...that was the most amazing thing!

Tell your father not to worry - easier said than done, that's all we did...we thought all the bad things would happen first, but WE WERE SOOOOOOOOOOOO WRONG!

My thoughts and prayers are with you...I DO know what you are going through, keep us updated, I REALLY DO CARE!

Thanks Cindy your words of encouragement do mean ALOT I work in the medical field and deal with Cancer patients but when it hits home it seems harder I am on edge anxious to see what the Dr has to say tomorrow I am really hoping and praying it's not Cancer

I know what you mean about it hitting home. Isn't it amazing that it is always so much easier to encourage and be optimistic when it comes to others? I know when I went through it with my dad, it always helped to hear from others who had been through the same thing!

My fingers are crossed and my prayers are with you and your Dad...let me know...and give him a hug for me! I love Dads...

If it is cancer and in beginning stages, that's always the best time to catch it, to take care of it. It sounds like your Dad is on the right track, seeing the doctor, taking care of things. Try and keep your spirits up. I know it's difficult. I lost my Dad about 5 years ago and miss him dearly. You are fortunate to still have your Dad. I hope he gets better.
