Several Prayer Requests

Sorry to bombard you guys with so many from me at once! As you can see, it's been a busy week! Ahh..we could start a soap opera here with these.....

#1 - My Step-Sister in Law, Lori, and her boyfriend were both just laid off this week from their jobs. To top things off, she just discovered she is pregnant! She is shocked, embarrassed and upset, and happy all at once. Please pray she will be able to find another job quickly and that the baby will be okay through all this stress.

#2 - My other Step-Sister in Law, Holly, works at the same company Lori was just laid off from. She is concerned about her job. Also, she and her husband, Rob, are stuck in the middle of his parents' nasty divorce. His dad apparently decided he liked his co-worker better and left his wife for her. Rob's mother is very upset and not taking the situation well at all. (who can blame her?)

#3 - My sister's cocker spaniel (dog), Chester, has been having a lot of problems the last year or so with lumps, seizures and weight loss. Just got an email from her that said they discovered yet another lump on him Wednesday. By Thursday night, it had gotten bigger and harder. Today it is actually visible, whereas before you could only feel it. He is scheduled for an appointment with the vet on Monday. Meanwhile, my sister has gotten herself all worked up over it and she says to make matters worse, the vet's office manager was "exuding bad vibes on this one".

Okay.. I think that's all for now. Thanks in advance for the prayers and I will do my best to keep everyone updated.

Chester had his visit with the vet yesterday. According to my Sister's email, things are ok. The vet initially didn't think it looked so good, but she aspirated the cyst (drew fluid out with syringe) and got very little, but enough to do a cytology on the cells while they waited. She said she thinks it's (in the words of my sister!) "a something-or-other", basically a hair follicle gone wild. It's filled itself up with keratin and oils and has swollen to grotesque amounts. It's alarming to her that it came up so fast, so she recommends removal. He was going in this morning for a teeth cleaning and they have to put him under anesthesia anyway for that, so they plan to remove it while he's asleep. They'll send it off to the pathologist just to be sure it's ok, but it looks like we're out of the woods for now.

Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers! It really means a lot to us. My sister is suppose to call or email again tonight and let me know how everything went with Chester and I will be sure to post whenever I get an update.

Sorry for not being as diligent as I should have been in keeping you guys updated. Been pretty busy around here just taking care of the basic house cleaning that's been neglected recently!

I haven't heard anything on Lori or Holly, so I'm going to assume no news is good news, I hope!

As for my sister's dog, Chester, it turns out things didn't look as good as they thought. The vets removed the lump and all went well with that. Looked like a tumor of the blood vessel. The vet sent it off to a pathologist. The results came in yesterday and it was a Malignant Tumor. My sister is extremely upset. She's an emotional wreck right now. The good news is that the tumor was removed, but the vet is recommending either more surgery to make sure it she got it all or radiation therapy. My sister was already having a tough time financially, so she's not sure what she's going to do. Please keep both her (her name is Beth) and Chester in your prayers.

Jen my prayers are with beth and Chester both it's so hard to even have an animal sick you get so atached to them i pray that beth has strenghth and plenty of love to give and for chester a very speddy full recovery and a clean bill of health i also pray for you i know that you are also expecting and that you worry so much about others and that everything is going well for yourself and the baby keep us posted and if anything i can do email me ..
