Small But Please Pray

On Saturday, my husband was written up at work. In the write-up, they wrote that they recommend that he "look for other work," because he probably won't be there long. He has been written up for three times over the last six months for secret shopping visits. He works retail. He doesn't get paid much, and I have always thought he could do more, but we are in kind of a recession, and the town that we live in has always been difficult to find work in.... He was basically told that if he didn't give his two weeks notice, he would have to be taken down from full-time to part-time. I was okay with this until tonight. Tonight, he drove to Seattle because he has to go to court for a ticket we got there a few months ago. About an hour outside of Seattle, he was stopping in to get some gas, and the car completely stopped working. Apparently, there had been some kind of oil leak in the car that we didn't know about (we have gravel and not concrete in our driveway). I'm totally stressed out because a mechanic told him that even with a second hand engine it's going to cost us over $1000. I am only working as a temporary employee in a company that has a hiring freeze in effect, and I don't know if they will hire me when it is over or not. I think they will, but not knowing scares me. We were saving up to get his car fixed from hitting a deer, and now, having to pay for this, too, without him possibly having a job is going to kill us. I'm scared of what is going to happen. We have a daughter who turns two on February the 2nd, and I don't know how things are going to work out for all of us, much less actually being able to have a little party for her when my husband's sister and mom come over here. If anyone at all will pray for me, I would appreciate it, and also, if anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate that, too. It always helps to vent and talk things out. I'm alone tonight with just my daughter, and she's asleep, so... thanks!

I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I hope he can find something to help with the bills. Can he get a job through the temp place you work through? (((((HUGS))))) what about food stamps and wic for your child? That would help.

Dear Lord,

Please be with bbouma and her family. Hold them in Your hands and guide Mr. bbouma to find employment. Be with their little girl and give her peace to know that mommy and daddy will be ok. Lord, You do so much each day and I thank you for all You do. I can't even fathom how busy You are. I do know though that because You are our Lord, that You are still capable of even more.

Thank you Lord for continuing to watch over each of us. Thank you for holding our hands and guiding us each and every day. It is because of You that I have peace in my heart. Though it still may ache, You have given me peace. You have made it possible to continue each day as I know the sun will be here tomorrow.

Buckeymomma, that is a good idea about him possibly trying to get a job at the temp agency that I am working at right now. Unfortunately the economy is VERY slow here in Spokane, Washingon. I have a B.A. degree, and I'm working for 8.00 an hour. It's a lot different type of place than I thought I would be in at age 30. Oh, well, God will always be with us. I believe that very strongly, and I know that he doesn't want us to worry but always trust in Him! Thanks!

Matthew 6:2 says, "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" and 6:33-34 says. "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself."
