| my amnio's scheduled for monday. can you spare a little prayer?
there is a risk of 1 in 200 for it to cause miscarraige, and the fact i had no problems with it while carrying hannah has no impact on those odds. if anybody can keep their fingers crossed for me, it would be much appreciated. 7:30 am eastern time. (and you don't have to respond here to tell me. since i'm limited in non-business web time, i often send up prayers without responding here.) much thanks and love, paula.

I had an amnio with my third child..it's stressful to anticipate it, but the procedure itself is really very routine and if it helps to hear it, I didn't feel a thing! And altho it wouldn't have made a difference anyway what the results were, it was really nice to know I was carrying a healthy child. Of course you worry, but the risks are very small. I hope everything goes flawlessly for you, and when you find out the sex, let us know!!

Don't worry. I had a high-risk pregnancy with my daughter, and I was so worried. The doctor had me on bed rest for the last three months, and I had to quit my temporary job, which caused a huge financial strain. I was in the hospital every week for two non-stress tests per week, and every other week, I had to have an ultrasound. Finally, when the amniotic fluid was really very low, they needed to do an amnio to find out if the baby's lungs were developed enough to induce. It all turned out just fine. They did the amnio while they had the baby on ultrasound. It was very scary, but God is always with you. I will be praying for you! BIG HUGS!

they moved it to this tuesday (the 15th). and actually, everything looked fine on the level 2 ultrasound, so i opted for the afp test instead of amnio. between those 2 things, they can give me a strongly supported guestimate that all is well. (for those of you who don't know this, this is a detailed ultrasound, wherein they can measure all the baby's bones and the cerebellum, and watch the blood flow thru the baby's body [especially the heart]. they look for markers of down's syndrome and spina bifida [an elongated second bone in the little finger signals trouble, as does thick skin on the back of the neck, as do short leg bones]. it's amazing. i can see the baby's profile in the pix she printed out for me!) anyway, THANKS FOR THE PRAYERS AND GOOD THOUGHTS, my friends! i get afp results on monday. if those are good, we're sitting pretty! paula.
