Chatter box Thanks for all the prayers

Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes. I am finally (as my husband puts it) self-employed! I am no longer someone else's gopher. My last day of working for someone else was Thursday! I have my avon business to concentrate on and VERY soon I will have my own consignment store open!!! I am so excited! I still need all the prayers I can get though. Starting my own business has been a dream of mine and thanks to my hubby it is becoming a reality. We have 2 children to support so I pray that this will be a successful venture! I want them to be proud of their mom.

As far as it goes with my ex-husband things are still touch and go there. The courts still refuse to limit his visitation with the kids. Last time he had them he took them to a pool hall for the day! I was so mad! My younger one has asthma and he just can't be around all that smoke. However, for some reason his dad won't listen. Pray for their safety and well-being while they are visiting him. I am still tangling with the court system down here and maybe one day they will finally agree with me and do what is really best for the kids....instead of what they say their dad is entitled to. My older child tells me so much that goes on. However, the courts down here won't listen to her since she is only 7 yrs old. (Her brother is 3 yrs old). Stupid as it is there is nothing I can do. I am helpless in this situation and according to my attorney all I can do is send them and hope they return unharmed.

Good luck in your new venture! It sounds like you've got the right mindset to get it going!

As for your children, I will be praying for them. Can you request that his visitation be supervised with a social worker? Smoke or no smoke, a pool hall is not a place for children! Oh yeah, that's quality time.....give me a break! Any way of getting medical reports or letters from the pediatrician that your son not be readily exposed, etc. etc. What about having a P.I. follow them on his visitation days? If they won't listen to your daughter, what about P.I. pictures? Just some quick thoughts....

Good luck with everything!

The children's pediatrician has written the court a letter about the smoke, etc due to the asthma and the court didn't seem to care. Like I said, the state of KY is horrible! My daughter and son just came back from a visit and informed me that their dad left them at his mom's the whole time. That proves how much he cares about spending quality time with them, huh?! Plus to top it off this woman can't even seem to bathe or feed them! I am so mad right now. My husband said we need to contact our attorney first thing Monday morning. I don't know what good it will do. I have spent thousands of dollars and accomplished nothing. Oh, well. Thanks for the encouragement.

My heart goes out to you and your children. I have heard that the KY court system is poor. I am sorry that your children are suffering because of it. The best I can tell you is to keep documentation of all the incidents...ie..pool hall and keep dates and details of what you know. Someday if you go to court again, you will want to be prepared. I will pray for their safety.

Good luck on your business.
