Prayers needed

Some of you may have known that my daughter was accepted as a state finalist for a pageant to be held here in PA. I just got word today that our major sponsor backed out, and the pagent starts next Friday.

Please send some prayers this way so that we may be able to come up with the rest of the money.....some way, some how...... I have to come up with $150.00 by Friday.


We are having photos taken tomorrow......yes, this is last minute, but the photos being submitted have to be paid for as well as her pageant performance outfit, and entry fees.

I am totally at a loss right now and have gone so low today that I am sitting here drinking a beer, which I might add is something I never do. I am so upset! DD has been a nervous wreck about this pageant that I even had to take her to the ER the other morning because she was breaking out in hives because of her nerves.

The thing that really upsets me the most about this is that the "sponsor" talked her into doing this pageant by promising almost all of the money. DD wasn't going to enter because of the money situation. But as I said, this guy talked her into it and basically promised her the world. Now here it is a week before and he backs out.

My ex agreed to pay for half of the money that's due, but I am going to have a very difficult time coming up with my half.

I want her to go so bad!! And I want to be a part of it no matter the consequences.

And of course, it all happened on Friday the 13th!

Well, I will stop my rambling. I just needed to vent and ask for your prayers so that my daughter can make it to finals and possibly win. She would then go to Nationals in Florida. How great that would be!!

I'll be keeping you both in my thoughts.

Why not have a yard sale to come up with the money.. everyone has "junk" they want to get rid of.

Maybe even see if the Church, her school, a coffee shop and other small businesses in town will pitch in.. what is $10 to each of them..

I am sorry, that is horribley disappointing. But have hope, things have a way of working out.

Is it possible to apply for a mastercard at your local bank? Our first one was for $500.00 because we had no credit. Maybe your credit union


How about a pawn shop? We go there all the time, rather than have a garage sale. They will take anything. Or a used sporting goods shop (We have one called Play It Again Sports) if you have bikes, exercise equipment you want to get rid of.

I don't know how old your daughter is, but it is possible to explain the situation to your daughters friends parents, and see if they could chip in $10 to sponser her. This would not be asking for charity. This is an extremely normal request for sponsership with these circumstances. It would be quite reasonable for you to go to all the houses in your neighborhood. We have had kids do it from everything from soccer, to a jump roping contest.

No, you did not need this added stress right now. I am so sorry. You could possible chalk up the requests for sponsership as teaching entrepeneur (I am unsure of the spelling, but I can't find it Anywhere in my dictionary!!!) skills to your daughter.

I am so overwhelmed right now. I came here for prayers and strength to get through this nightmare that doesn't even compare to what others are going through here at DoD.

I never expected anything.....just a little prayer or two.

I would like to thank everyone for their prayers, support and contributions!! Amber & I will be leaving for the pageant tomorrow afternoon around 2:00 and I will definitely let everyone know how things go for her. Even if she doesn't win, it will be a great experience for her.
