Spent over 10 hours today at Emergency Room with Hubby. Only things I want to share now is he was in lots of pain, CAT Scan done, they kept him overnight & he's seeing a specialist tomorrow! He's self employed, & I used to carry our Health Insurance. I was laid off aprox. 7 months ago & now we have NO Health insurance! I have 2nd. appt. Mon. 2/12 to try getting free computer training scheduled to start 3/1. So depending on what goes on with hubby, that may not happen now. Sorry to keep asking for prayers for everyone, but so much has happened in less than 4 months! If I don't at least write down what's going on - I'll end up in a hospital next!

| Re: Hubby needs prayers now First - thanx June! Update on Hubby: Thurs. 2/8 he saw specialist in AM & scope surgery was done late afternoon & lasted 2.5 hours. They found a Large Tumor in his Bladder! Took a piece to Biopsy it. I was told what could happen next, including removing Whole Bladder - yet they did not want to tell hubby while he was still under anastegia. So - of course hubby's first question he asked me was, "what's the prognosis"? I had to pretend I hadn't spoke with Dr & they'll come tomorrow after checking results. I did not (nor should I be the one) telling him about his large tumor, 'cuz he'll need answers from a professional to his questions. Please pray that tumor is not cancerous!! Not sure how much more of that disease I can stand to deal ! |

| Re: Hubby needs prayers now {{{misothere}}} There's no need to apologize for prayer requests, ever. Many have already kept you and your's in their prayers, from day #1 and will continue to keep you's in our prayer vigils, always. And so it goes, as with many others, who have made/will make an faithful request in earnst. For as many of us members who may post in support of any request, I believe there are thousands more beyond, who silently pray for all those that ask for prayer, here or elsewhere. I truly believe in the power of prayer. While I may elect to remain silent on this forum for the most part, please know that any requests for prayer, do not go unheeded. |

| Re: Hubby needs prayers now Lisa, Please... don't ever not ask for prayers. Always ask. Our prayers are with you and Vic at this time, you have to be so scared. Remember, when three or more gather in prayer, it's so much better and stronger than if we try it alone. Praying to the Lord that the tumor will "not" be cancerous and I feel for you as I have no insurance either, which you already know. We're here for you and you have my email if you want to talk, k? Gentle Hugs, Marilyn

| Re: Hubby needs prayers now ((((((((((((((((((LISA)))))))))))))))))) Lisa you know that we are here for you and that we will continue to pray for you and your family! Praying that this mass will not be cancer and that God will move on Vic in a mighty way! Back a few years I had gal stones and I had prayed not to have the surgery and I remember I was so heartbroke that I had to have it after all the prayers. You know when they done the surgery, they also found a mass inside of me and they also said my appendix had twisted. It turned out to be just some fatty tissue(not cancer) that had twisted and just hung there. I am praying that Vic's will be something of this sort and not cancer! Be strong and hang in there, I am here if you need me! ![]()

| Re: Hubby needs prayers now First of all, thanx to all. The prayers you've sent for bro' John & MIL & Ex have made me feel I need to be strong & hopeful. All your prayers are truly appreciated! This AM Dr told Vic about his large tumor in bladder. He had liquid before a 2nd. CAT Scan & then a Chest X-ray today. I asked for Oncologist to speak to us, even tho' he did not have results from pathology yet, since indications after scope surgery indicated it was a type of tumor that was cancerous & I know action is everything in cancer! Oncologist gave professional (yet Gen'l) opinion that due to size & tumor grown into wall of bladder that it usually is bladder cancer. He asked if Vic smoked or had high BP & he doesn't. I asked about Chest X-ray after 2nd. CAT Scan being "normal" procedure & he indicated they called a Cardiovascular Dr to see Vic next (which we didn't know) 'cuz "something" showed up & they needed to ck. Before Bladder surgery they need to see if there's cancer anywhere else (even tho' oncologist said he didn't have pathology results back)!! He put on charts for cardiologist to do higher grade chest x-ray & asked Vic if there was heart disease in his family. Vic said no, but I thru' out the fact that Vic's dad died of brain tumor....which might make them look "closer" at x-rays & scans etc.. Oncologist mentioned "Aortic Dissection" & it not being "good" & I just googled it to research & I'm frankly freaking myself out more!! Man forget the when it rains it pours, I'm in a Tidal Wave right now! |

| Re: Hubby needs prayers now Here's a reason why I wish both of us were together to hear what Drs. tell us..........I forgot Oncologist said they'd have to do a Bone Scan too. I can't remember if they did that to my mom or brother when they had cancer, or if they didn't it was 'cuz thier lung cancer was in late stages & inoperable. A friend had breast tumor & other spots showed on Cat Scan in her liver & brain. They said her cancer was "Angio Sarcoma" & run's thru' the blood & she had a piece of Bone in Brain taken out & had to wait 2 wks for results of a decalsifying (? spelling) test. |

| Re: Hubby needs prayers now Three full days since they found hubby's tumor & no Pathology results yet!! Not knowing is terrible!! We spoke to 2 oncologists. First one came on our request since we hadn't heard anything yet & said meeting was premature since Pathology wasn't back & he's only called in if cancer is determined & then inoperable. He mentioned hubby needing a higher resilution chest xray, 'cuz when they did Cat Scan they saw something & he had a chest xray. A 2nd. Oncologist visited us & said Pathology isn't back (so I think it's strange that she visited, given what the 1st. Oncologist said about them being "last" person called in). She mentioned tumor being "Inoperable" & talked about chemo to melt tumor & maybe if it shrunk it could be operated on. Then she asked if Thorastic Dr (or Surgeon - I forget) told us about hubby's "ANUERISM"!! We told her this is the first we heard of this & were waiting for a Cardiologist to see hubby about "Aortic Dissection". I think she said Thorastic & Cardiologist both deal with "Heart Disease/Issues" (hard remembering all that's going on right now)! She mentioned the term being "Aortic Dissection Anuerism"........... Weirdest thing is, this afternoon part of the Urology team made it sound like after Cathetre was removed that Hubby could go home Sunday 2/11. I'm calling hospital social worker & tell her we're either getting NO information or Conflicting information. Thurs. after 1st. scope surgery when they found tumor in Bladder they talked about operating to remove it & now Oncologist (who's supposed to be last step) told us tumor is "Inoperable"!?!?!?!? I'm wondering if they're afraid to operate 'cuz of the Anuerism, that Thurs. nights Urologist who performed surgery did not know about?? |

| Re: Hubby needs prayers now Oh Yeah, my mom, my brother & my ex & my friend all had cancer & never had a Bone Scan that 1st Oncologist mentioned being done. Asked Urologist that said he could be released Sunday what about the high resolution xray & Bone Scan that 1st Oncologist said were needed. Urologist said, hospital doesn't like to keep patients longer than they have to & all that is part of the "Normal" workup that's done before surgery & you can call Urologist office & discuss that. I'm afraid if hubby's release & we call "private Dr's practices" that they'll refuse to see him 'cuz right now we have no health insurance & no income! I used to carry health benefits & I'm unemployed & with all this going on with hubby timing is definitely NOT right to be job searching. Plus my free computer training is now not going to happen since I became ineligible due to no income in household. |

| Re: Hubby needs prayers now This morning hubby said his primary care Dr said his Aneurysm is small & "might" just have to be watched. (I wish I was there early AM to ask what the size is, since WebMD.com says Aneurysm can "Burst" if 5.5 cm (I think it was, but will check again & write it down for ? to Dr). Oh yeah, the nurse who agreed with me that he had antibiotic allergy mentioned hubby should get flu shot while he's in the hospital, so I'll write note as reminder. Can't hurt, especially since if he's recovering from surgery & if he goes to Chemo his defense system will be compromised (not to mention we don't have Health Insurance). Please pray that God will provide, since I filled out paperwork at hospital Friday & Today for help & I really hope it's approved! Then he had a 4th. Cat Scan today (with die). After that he had another Chest X-Ray where they took blood out & put die in it & put blood back in & had plates on his chest. The 1st Oncologist we saw visited again tonite & said the Urologist would come by to talk to us about surgery options for his Bladder & that if all his Pre-Op Cat Scan, X-Ray's etc came back okay that hubby could go home until' surgery was scheduled. He also said hubby's Aneurysm was not recent & could've happened years ago!! (Weird no symptoms, but internet sight I went to said there usually aren't any). This 1st Oncologist also said the pathology results still were NOT back yet! I asked how long they take & he said 4-5 days & piece of tumor was sent out Thursday early evening. (Tonite is Monday 4th nite). Maybe we'll get some straight up answers tomorrow finally?? Hopefully hubby can come home tomorrow (Tues) since we're supposed to get hit with snow late Tues. nite & I'd rather not be driving around in bad weather on Weds. if at all possible. |

| Re: Hubby needs prayers now Hubby got to leave hospital at 6:30PM Tuesday & they still do not have Pathology results yet! BUT, primary care Dr. told him today that "you & your Bladder must part". So good news is the Aneurysm does not make the Tumor "inoperable". Bad news is that even tho' Pathology results are not back,...they've decided to remove entire Bladder 'cuz Tumor is in the wall - more than likely it "is" Bladder Cancer like Urologist who found it first mentioned that in his professional opinion that's what he thought it was. Oncologist said same thing to us as well. Hubby will probably have a "bag" to drain urine for rest of his life. More bad news - is Bladder Cancer has a 50% chance of coming back. With Chemo after surgery it has 35% chance of coming back! He's 57 & I'm only 44 & honestly I admit that I am kinda' scared at all of this !! Urologist appt. at 5:00PM should explain in detail about surgery etc....., so I'll update after that. The nurse that agreed about his allergic reaction to an antibiotic told him he should get a Flu Shot so I asked his nurse. She asked if he wanted a Pneumonia Shot too & hubby pointed to me & said it's up to her. Of course I said yes, since between surgery & possibly Chemo they can't hurt. Plus if the healthcare paperwork is approved they may be paid for since they were given in the hospital. The Anastegiologist & Urologist Surgeons fee's & his office visit will definitely not be covered & the less we have to pay for out of pocket the better! |

| Re: Hubby needs prayers now Glad Vic got home and sorry they don't have the results back yet! Also glad the aneurysm don't make it inoperable. Lisa I know it sounds bad and you are very worried, but I am praying that the Lord works things out for you all and sends his healing power down on Vic!
