Re: Hubby needs prayers now

((((((((Lisa))))))))))

You'll learn how to do things - this isn't the same at all, but when I was divorced (back when), I did have to learn how to do for myself too. It takes time, patience, prayer and sometimes just walking away and saying to yourself - NOT today, maybe tomorrow, but in the end, you'll learn it.

June? Weed-eater? Those things! (forget this part, Lisa!) That THING, I used to use it till the stringy thing went flying off and took a swipe at my arm at the same time - be careful with those, June. I think the one I had was out to get me.

Hang in there, friend - you know how to get in touch with me if you need me....
Hugs,
Marilyn

Re: Hubby needs prayers now

Still couldn't start the mower & my neighbors must be horrified by my front lawn. I live on a State Hwy. that's "well traveled" too which is frankly embaressing by the unkept place at the current moment.

This Sat. my friends said they'd come by & "drop" the rest of that dead tree, so I'll ask for assistance while they are here to get mower going since I'm not used to it & all.

Outside work/inside work/probate & finacial paperwork & dealing with things that have been needing fixing for years ........."my head is spinning so fast". (I think I'll box hubby's clothes etc up & donate them to the VA Home).

Plus my thoughts of how I should go back to school to educate myself further for a better paying job since I'm a widow now & wondering if I can "DO IT ALL, on my own" - it's frightening!

With no will & house & van needing paying off - I gotta' get myself together to keep "above water" - just to start off with (I refuse to sink immediately anyway)!

It's gonna' be a LONG year!!

This should give you all a good clue to what I've been going thru' since 4/26 (accident only 1 Tenth Mile away).
NOTE: I can't get anywhere without passing the "scene".

Re: Hubby needs prayers now

Thanx June & Ch3rry,

Finally got the lawn tractor working - after friend charged the battery & told me about moving throttle down once it starts (details that men think women just know I guess).

Sat. I walked around in the rain with spreader laying down grub killer in the rain ("another joy") Then I realized I hadn't checked the "setting" which should've been 2-3 & it was on "9"!! Needless to say I wasted money over chemicaling lawn & hope I don't end up with dead birds/chipmunks & squirrels along with killing the grubs.

I tried using the huge weed wacker that has strap around neck 'cuz it's so heavy & must be around 8 feet long.(Probably a real landscapers model, not a homeowners one). I'm only 5 feet & it was quite awkward to just hold, so I didn't bother trying to start that up yet. I'll wait til' a friend is over to make sure I can even handle it safely especially since I'm alone here & cell phones don't get good service in case I end up having an accident using it.

Already think, I should call somebody before dumping leaves out back next time, in case I end up going into the ditch & can't get myself out since neighbors can't see back there.

All new life challenges, but shouldn't complain since at least I have my life, right. Life is for learning & boy am I being taken to school. Got the "dunce hat" on now - but with time, I plan to be on the "honor roll" by maybe getting my lawn to be green for starters - LOL!

((((Lisa))))

I don't know what you're going through, but I know it's got to be so much more than hard. Hard doesn't even begin to describe it. I also haven't been on here much lately but you're in my thoughts and prayers...
Love ya and hang in there,
Marilyn

Re: Hubby needs prayers now

I will try surviving whatever God deals me, but I really wish "death" wasn't in the cards anymore for awhile - 'cuz I think I've had my share since end of April 2003.

There's "gotta' be a reason" I've had so much family trajedy in such a short time & I really would like to know what "my purpose here on earth is supposed to be"!

They say ....."the best is yet to be", & maybe it's just a good thought to "hang on to" right now.

((((((Lisa))))))))),

Try to hang in there and you're not doing so bad - you got the lawnmower started and the grass green, right? Lots of people wouldn't have gotten that far!
I'm not on here much now either, as I'm elsewhere usually when I'm on the 'net, but you're always in my thoughts and prayers.

Re: Hubby needs prayers now

Heck no - I did not get the grass green "yet"! I haven't even fully mowed the lawn 'cuz mower keeps dieing on me. But hedges in front of house are trimmed now. I still need to rake & buy lawn seed & sprinklers to get grass green in front, but "baby steps" inside & outside the house right now.

My best buddy & her hubby bought me a new stove to replace the 1940's one that hasn't worked in over a year.
They wanted to give me money & I refused, so they "just showed up with the stove & helped me declutter kitchen.

Another friend & I worked 9.5 hours in humidity decluttering living room & boxing yard sale stuff up & offered to paint that room when it's time.

Both friends husbands & a son will put in a new toilet when I buy one & on same day will make a "pass thru" from kitchen to living room with a breakfast counter on kitchen side. (I don't have room in kitchen for table & it'll be my slicing dicing area & I can get 2 stools & use it for eating at too).

These friends are carpenter buddies & they'll be paid in hubby's carpentry tools for labor. I probably have most of the building materials in shed 'cuz hubby kept "every scrap" from houses he worked on.

I will need to buy new toilet & counter & pay just the son's labor for 1 day (which is a good use of ck from Soc. Sec. for spouses death). If you ever saw the show "designing on a dime" - that's what I'm about right now. Hubby's old clothes bureau will become a place to put TV on & put Video & DVD & cassette tapes in. Friend is giving me new speakers - 'cuz ours were blown.

I'll use what I have, declutter, fix the place up & make money off what I can sell (or trade for labor) to survive til' probate paperwork comes thru'.

Plus this all keeps me busy with less time to be depressed (which usually happens when I go to bed & that's why it's almost 2:30AM & I'm still online - avoiding depression)!
