| Re: prayers for mom-in-law I called SIL yesterday & her boyfriend said she's in Cancun on vacation (spontaneous - but seems to be well needed). So he updated me on MIL.......last time SIL tried feeding her with a fork she grabbed & slammed it on table & it went flying. MIL's new thing is using "no" utensils to eat off the plate. Sad but it's a disease. Perhaps the Alzheimers unit uses spoons for a reason, 'cuz the forks can become weapons in flight. So one thing I've learned about Alzheimer's patients is to try to keep things "routine" (so use a spoon, if that's what they're used to). |

| Re: prayers for mom-in-law Lisa, It is sad - when that happened with my Grandmother, who lived to be 95, there were too many years when I was there, but she didn't know who I was. It's not easy, it is heartbreaking. Hugs, Marilyn

| Re: prayers for mom-in-law Prior Post: What's more sad about that disease, is you can't even tell them thier oldest son passed away yesterday (since the past couple times they don't even recognize them). I wasn't direct - but MIL's oldest son (my hubby) was the one I was referring to that passed away yesterday! :-( |

| Re: prayers for mom-in-law I found a handmade mom's day card my hubby wrote when he was in elementary school with a cute poem for his mom. It will be displayed somewhere at the funeral home for my hubby & then I told SIL to take it 'cuz I thought it would be nice to put inside thier mom's casket when she passes. (The words are "perfect" for "both to have it at thier services). |

| Re: prayers for mom-in-law Oh Lisa, I should've realized that your MIL was Vic's Mom. Somehow that went right over my head. I'm doubly sorry now that she won't know. Still here for you if you need anything. Hugs, Marilyn

| Re: prayers for mom-in-law You know how they say God won't give you more than you can take.................... How much more can I take??? I must have really bad Karma to have to go thru' all this in such a short period of time (& Mandi too)! MIL will not even be told (sadly to say but she won't understand - ALZHEIMER'S BITES TOO)! |

| Re: prayers for mom-in-law oh Lisa I know it is so rough on you right now! I don't understand why you have been going thru so much! I do know that God is still with you and He will strengthen you and help you to endure! Many prayers and hugs coming your way!

| Re: prayers for mom-in-law I as well, do not understand why "you" are going thru' so much? Heck we seem like nice people (LOL - OIC) ...... (Laugh Out Loud - Or I'll Cry). Reason must be we're just "too darn strong" for our own britches! I'm praying the future will "level out" with serenity for us both. Too much sadness, & too many tears - must mean they'll be replaced with smiles in future years. Looking forward to - leveling out ... & future smiles, ARE'NT' YOU? |

| Re: prayers for mom-in-law Of course you're both nice - we're just all nuts from all that's happened (but we're still nice-nuts!) ![]() Marilyn
