Re: prayers for mom-in-law

SIL Cathy is still having stress while visiting MIL during lunch & after work to make sure she eats. SIL saw Vic couple weeks ago while he was in hospital (but only 'cuz she was down her for a benefit with her boyfriend).

So Friday she called Vic at hospital & said she'd visit him next weekend, her & boyfriend Tom will most likely stay overnite at his daughter's in next town from us like during benefit. It's 2.5 mile drive each way - so it's good they have Tom's family to let them spend the night.

That'll be nice, and Vic will probably be feeling a little stronger and better so it might be a better time for them to visit. Continued prayers for you all!

Re: prayers for mom-in-law

If there "was a way to declutter" - I wouldn't have to worry about it silly!

So a visiting nurse is due today (3/1) & she'll just have to deal with it I guess! (I'm sure they've seen worse)!

After she leaves, I'll "TRY" shifting stuff' before SIL come's so at least there's room in our living room (LOL)!

Gotta' keep in mind our house originally was a "summer cottage" - so storage & space wasn't a problem then.

NOW IT IS!!

Sorry I couldn't help myself. Thought it might bring you a smile!

Do what I always do.....if they come to look at your house they don't need to be there.

You always have to move something off my couch.........between the boys toys and backpacks and coats....that they so nicely hang up

Girl don't worry about your house.......you got more important things to worry about!

Continued prayers

Re: prayers for mom-in-law

I don't even have washer or dryer here, so I figured a fast way to declutter bathroom that had laundry all seperated in loads by color! Threw them in the bathtub & shut the shower doors (LOL)!

Tomorrow we're supposed to get a "significant" amount of snow - so I'll be shoveling driveway, instead of concentrating on the inside of the house like planned.

If SIL says anything about how we live, I'll be honest & say.....our house would be nice & clean if we just moved into a mobile home that was only a few years old & had money enough to rent a storage faciliy like you do since you're living in you & Vic's mom's old residence.

I might even add - plus you should stop complaining about how much the mobile park fees are......since the mobile home is paid for & that's your only bill for a place to live & your boyfriend lives there too & he works..........

See - you know I won't say all that.........but it felt good to just type it out here & "exhale"!............

Re: prayers for mom-in-law

Lisa,
This is what you say. But, I JUST cleaned! LOL
Don't worry about it, I figure if someone wants to come and see us, then the apartment (and ours is TINY) won't bother them, if they want to stare at our less-than-three room apartment, they don't need to come over, though a visiting nurse won't care anyways. De-clutter? What's that?
And if you really want to get to your SIL, just tell her you'd like to move in w/her as it'll be easier on you! !!!
Hugs,
M

Re: prayers for mom-in-law

Sorry about all that about house & what SIL thinks about how we live - but now it's off my chest I feel better. Yup visiting nurse didn't care - it's part of her job to be non-judgemental I'm sure.

SIL Cathy has been calling Vic often & that's all I should think about is that she just wants to visit him (not our messy house). I have to think about how she's visiting thier mom with Alzheimer's & now this with Vic & thier youngest brother Jon has never been emotionally in touch with his family - so she's got stuff in her mind too about thier family.

My side are always calling & visiting each other & Vic never understood why I talked to my mom on phone after just visiting her sometimes - I think "now" he gets it..........

Lisa,
I'm sure he does "get it" now, though all families aren't as close as yours is. You've got a great family. As do lots of us. Prayers continuing.
Hugs,
Marilyn

Re: prayers for mom-in-law

Thanx Marily,

I think he does "get it" - 'cuz he's actually been "thanking me" regulary for helping him with his new life medical issues etc........

His sis' is scheduled to be in the area this wknd to babysit with her boyfriend for his grandkids & is supposed to visit - but where they live is supposed to have 10-15" of snow - so we'll just wait & see. (I'm not stressing about the house anymore - still stressing about "bigger" issues).

Hugs to you & Mark!
Lisa

Re: prayers for mom-in-law

SIL came to visit hubby & said thier mom was not doing well. Now she seems to not recogize her daughter (SIL) who visits daily.

SIL feeds her & MIL's new thing is turning her head away & refusing food. She does like ensure & they give her that tho' which is good.

She has cast off her wrist, but hasn't really walked "all alone" with her pelvic bone injury still bothering her with pain, but it's coming along.
