Unhappy I need all the prayer chains going!!!
My grandma is in the hospital right now not doing so good. She's been feeling quite miserable for the pass few days, finally my grandpa told her he's taking her to the ER whether she likes it or not. Its a good thing they went, apparently sometime between mon and wednesday morning around 4am, she had a massive heart attack. We're not sure if she knew she had it or if she just didn't want to say anything to my grandpa. The hospital admitted her yesterday morning. Sometime yesterday she had a 2nd massive heart attack. The doctors have a balloon(?) type thing in her arteries to keep them open. One artery is 99% blocked, the 2nd is 90% and the third is 75% blocked. They are going to perform open heart surgery on her in the morning around 7am. Any and all prayers are greatly appreciated.

Hey Sweetpea......

My candle is "still" lit & I'll say a prayer for your grandma in hopes her surgery goes well!

I understand heart surgery is so-o scary, but amazing what can be done & I'LL PRAY FOR YOUR GRANDMA!

The (balloon thing) is called Angioplasma surgery (If I remember correctly). It's was about 10 yrs since my dad had a stroke & was "paddled back to life".

They scheduled him for that "balloon surgery" & had to reschedule 'cuz that was not enough. He was rescheduled for a TRIPLE heart bypass (which ended up being a QUADRUPLE BYPASS) due to much blockage etc....

If he would've had a simple test - they would've found out he had 99% blockage in his CORONARY (MAIN) ARTERY & maybe they could've done something to prevent his stroke & his heart attack as well?? Can't go back there!!

My dad is still here with us after that & I believe that your grandma's surgery will help her as well!

BE STRONG - KEEP THE FAITH - GOD IS WATCHING OVER YOUR GRANDMA (& YOU & YOUR 2 KIDS)!

Hang in there and we're also praying for you and your grandma here. Heart surgery has, like misothere says, come a long way and we'll be praying that she'll be back to herself and probably feeling better after it's all over with.

thank you ladies. My grandma is doing so much better now. She walked 4-5steps yesterday and sat up in her chair for 2hours yesterday afternoon. They moved her from the ICU into a step-down unit called IMCU. I'm not sure what that stands for though. My grandpa said that she could be home before christmas...

Is this the same Grandma that you bring Ice Cream Sundays to? I was wondering... and hoping she "did" get home for Christmas and will be back to feeling much better very soon. I know that you and your boys are a real blessing in her life...
