need everyone's prayers so much!!

My brother John has had surgery today. His left leg has been amputated near the knee (in hopes what's left he'll be able to use a prostetic leg), PLUS - they amputated his right foot up to the ankle! Infection would've set in otherwise!!

He's been under medically induced "unconscious state" because of the pain, so WHEN they awaken him......he'll be left to look at parts of his body not there anymore & BEGIN A NEW LIFE! He still has his arms & fingers which will help ALOT!

PLEASE PRAY THAT HE'LL BE ABLE TO DEAL WITH ALL THIS, AND SO WILL HIS FIANCE'! OUR WHOLE FAMILY IS SO WORRIED ABOUT HER AS MUCH AS JOHN RIGHT NOW. IT'LL BE A REALLY LONG ROAD AHEAD FOR ALL OF US! "-(

Shewwwww your family sounds like my family right now. We serve a mighty God and he knows what he is doing, even if we don't always understand it. He will send someone to help your family get thru this, be strong and trust the Lord to see you thru. Your brother and all your family is in my prayers.

That was a very big decision to make. She will be in my prayers also! You will learn you can please everyone, but ask the Lord to lead you and guide you and that will be the best way. Praying that God leads you all thru this.

Thanx to all for your prayers & comforting messages!

John is my brother who's 2 years older than me, & our oldest brother who is John's age right now died 6/23/06.

John is NOT a diabetic (tho'it does run on 1 side of our family). Blood clots broke off to legs & caused lack of oxygen & he lost muscle tissue (given he was 91 degrees at ER) & due to this body started shutting down.

On top of that - I'm laid off again & don't think my last prospect will offer me a job (even after 3 weeks of stringing alone & not knowing). My mind has to start focusing on me before I run out of unemployment benefits which is hard with all this going on. I don't have medical insurance & it scares me to think if I have a blood clot like John that goes undetected for years til' something bad happens. But gotta' get that negative thought outta' my head for now.

As you can see by the time of this post - I just can't sleep & I have an 8:30 appt. tomorrow which I'm also stressed over. But John is the one who truly NEEDS all your prayers right now (not me)!

I never stopped praying for John, and I prayed for you and your family as well. I'll add onto my prayers to include a job for you. The insurance, can you get any help from whatever state you're in? I'm in the same way at the moment, no insurance here for me either, though at least my husband does have it.

Misothere!............YOU NEED PRAYERS TOO! You can not do this alone! Trust me I know! God is big enough and can take care of you and your brother both! He will see you thru this as well as your bother! Hang in there and be strong!

Update on John, he had a temp up to 102 degrees, but it has now been under 100 for a few days. They did many cultures & couldn't find source of infection that might've 'caused temp. Regular dialysis was too hard on his body every other day, so he's on a "slower" dialysis non-stop & is tolerating it. Gall Bladder & Liver are better, but spleen is not working. One of his amputations is not as good as they hoped & the may need to take more of "both" legs. His blood pressure is low. He started opening his eyes a couple times, but they upped his pain medicine 'cuz they think he's in more pain so he's still medically unconscious. They're talking about replacing oxygen with a trach which "might" be easier on him since it's been over 2 weeks on oxygen.

I'm still trying to be as hopeful as his fiance that he'll live thru' all this & eventually accept & deal with his amputations. She loves him so much & keeps saying "he CAN'T die". I just don't know if John will want to live like this & remind her to "let him decide" to stay or go. I also say to her........"is it better to have loved & lost, than to never have loved at all". I'm worried she's setting herself up to never get thru' "if" he decides not to stay.

As for me, still no job - but I do have my health.

It sounds like some things are better though. Kidney and liver sounds somewhat better, though the dialysis had to be changed, it is working. And his temp is down, maybe it was a viral thing that went away... you never know.
Still praying for you, John and all of you, it has to be so hard on 'all' of you and since John opened his eyes already, he's fighting, so he's a strong man, like you are.
Will pray for God's Will, and it could be you haven't found a job yet, as you're needed right where you are. Another surgery, if that does happen, you'd probably want to be at the hospital for. And afterwards, the job will come when it's supposed to, put it all in God's hands and thanks for talking here, as we do all care.

Thanx to all who have viewed & replied to John & what "He's" going thru'. (It is REALLY appreciated)!!

If there's ANY musician (bass, guitar, keyboard, & drums) who have had anything (even close) to this happen to them & have survived & are still upbeat & making music (like he'd have to be)..... PLEASE REPLY BACK!!

Music is THE greatest motivator John has ever had before all this trama, & I believe if anything can get him thru' all this (besides his fiance & family & friends, of course) , - "IT'S MUSIC"!

Each time I'm laid off - I "do" feel "it's for a reason" 'cuz there's family member's who are in need of "extra hands or help" ( or just to have a support) when it happens.

BUT, I really do hope that I can aquire a good job with health (& maybe dental too) benefits soon 'cuz it's still another concern in my life right now.
