Dad & Sylvie visited John today, but when I called Dad to tell him Vic's out of ICU & give him the "regular" room # & update on Vic........I hate to say this but we didn't discuss John. (I'll call John directly Sat. or Sunday tho').

Hi,
Your Dad's mind was on Vic, that's why, as yours was as well and John is already in rehab, while Vic is in the hospital. It's normal, don't worry about it and if John hadn't been doing ok, your Dad would have told you. It'll be nice to talk to him on the phone though.

Patty was supposed visit John Saturday while her family & company's family visited a friends family they all know. That friends place is close to John's rehab & Patty was gonna' go off for an hour or so & visit John.

Guess thier friends youngest son was sick, so visit with all the other kids did not happen - so Patty didn't visit John today.

But dad & Sylvie visited John today & dad said the Rehab place is already talking about transferring him in the "next couple of weeks" to an "approved" Medicare Nursing home.

John's eating solid food without problems. He's been doing exercises in his bed & in wheelchair. He can transfer himself from bed to wheelchair & back. He has 2 bags so doesn't have to worry about bathroom transfers.

Don't feel bad about not talking about John! Goodness girl you got so much going on that you have to concentrate on Vic!


It sure sounds like John is coming right along! He is such a blessing to know what all the Lord has brought him thru!
Eating solid foods is great and is getting around by himself! Wow thats wonderful!

Mon. 2/26 Dad he helped both John & roomate move to another Floor. They both are doing better without trache's & have to give lists of where they want to go in a couple to few weeks depending on thier status.

Less than 1/2 mile from dad's a nursing home recently put in a Rehab Facility with state of the art care & "Wound Mgmt" (which is HIGH on John's list having amputations on both legs)!

If he ends up there - he'll have more company from dad & all us 3 sisters due to location -so we wait & see.

Thanx again for all your prayers for John, they've seemed to work miracles for him so far so don't stop please!

Not sure if that nursing home with new Rehab was visited & if it's still on his list to go to, but ANY nursing home with good wound care will serve him well so he doesn't get infections to set him back after he's made it so far!

Continued prayers for John. Sounds like he's doing great with the wheel chair, and everything else. The right placement for him will be found.

Dad visited John for 3 hours today & in that amt. of time John had to change his bags (for both) 3 times collectively!

Had problems & wknds are short on nurses & he was frustrated for having to also change clothes 3 times (which the Rehab "encourages" the family to do).

Well at least Rehab must wash the bedding & mattress pads. Plus John doesn't have to pay for the bag supplies which are "costly" (I now know for personal reasons)!

John's old band member visited him before dad had to leave too......so hopefully John's spirits were brought up after a frustrating few hours!!

So glad that your dad got to visit John! I am sure that meant most to him and did more cheering up than you know.
I know the bags are outrageous. Mom had a time getting hers!
I hope John had a good visit with his friend from the band to.

I'm sure if it was me in John's situation I'd totally love any visitors or calls. I'll probably call John today after getting back from my husband Vic's appt.
