Daddy is in the hospital!

Hey all, just wanted to let you all know what is up, just in case I have to leave and disappear offline this week.

My dad has been having gall bladder trouble for awhile and his doc said it needed to come out, but he was avoiding the tests and surgery. Well, yesterday, it finally hit the point where he couldn't ignore it or avoid it any longer. He got home, laid down for his evening nap as usual, woke up in pain so severe that he could barely stand up.

He will not use the ambulance service, he is very old fashioned at 77, so he just doesn't trust them, so he called my brother who had to come out and rush him to the ER. Now, he doesn't have a choice, his doc decided to check him in and do surgery today to remove it.

They had given him something for pain, so when I talked to him last night he was feeling a lot better, but groggy, after all, this is a man who has hardly even taken Tylenol or Aspirin in about 40 years. He has one blood pressure pill and one blood thinner that he takes daily, and that is it.

If all goes well, he will be able to leave the hospital this evening. I am, of course, very worried though, he hasn't had any type of surgery or anesthesia since he was in his 40's, and he is 77 now, like I said and the reason he is on the blood thinner is because of an irregular heartbeat.

Just wanted to let you all know what was up, in case I have to leave suddenly and disappear offline this week. Neither he, nor my brother have a computer, so while I am gone, I will be unable to be online.

I am putting this in the prayer request forum as well, please remember him.

My dad raised me, alone, from when my mother abandoned me when I was 5 years old, and I will be lost if I lose him. We are very, very close.

Thank you, I really appreciate it.

I just spoke with him, he said they are still planning to do the surgery today, he had to wait though, as the doc already had surgeries scheduled for this morning. They did a sonogram and he said it showed he has one huge stone and one smaller one.
