I have been waking up a least once week with migraines. I have tried all kinds of new meds some of them are very expensive as much as ten dollars a pill after my insurance plus I am missing a lot of work which is really hurting my finances. Some times I only miss a day but sometimes they last as much as three days. Please pray for me. And if any one has any advise on how to help let me know. I have changed my eating my sleeping and am trying to lose weight all in an effort to help stop them.

im not sure what your diet is or if you smoke but i got them before and i drank less caffeine slowed up on the cigarettes and lower my sodium intake and that really helped me. mine were nothing like yours though, i feel for you.

I don't smoke I drink one cup of coffee in the morning and follow weight watchers point system.

My father has been suffering for years with migraines. He had all kinds of tests to rule out any other illnesses. He tried many medications. The one that has finally worked for him is Depakote. He takes it daily as a preventative. It took a while to start working, but his headaches are less frequent. He was having migraines almost daily. He takes Relpax or Excedrin on the rare occasions when the Depakote doesn't prevent a headache. I pray that you find relief.

I don't get migraines, just bad tension headaches, and those are bad enough. I just finished a natural healing book, and it said if you get migraines, some people are helped by taking Vitamin B2 as a preventative, so, taken every day. I take a good B-complex pill almost every day because a lot of women seem to be low on the B vitamins, and it also helps with stress. So, you might try taking a good B-complex tablet everyday, making sure it has B2 in it. As with any natural treatment, it should take a while before you will know if it's helping you at all.

It also said you can take Sepia (homeopathic - from health food store - little pill you let dissolve under your tongue) ... 30c or less/day ... and that it helps some people with low thyroid, psoriasis, libido, migraines, PMS, depression, and varicose veins. I've found that the homeopathic pills do not help me (such low dose?), but some people swear by them. It might be worth a try. Or, you can go into a mom and pop health food store (in my experience, they are pretty knowledgeable), and see what they recommend.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else. The people I know who get migraines take the prescription pills that cost like $10 each ... ouch!

I used to get migrains a couple times a week. When I went to the Dr. she found out I had high blood preasure. Once she put me on medication to control my blood preasure I only have one a couple times a year.

I'm on my second week of Weight Watchers and really like it. Good Luck I hope you find something that works for you but doesn't cost so much.

How are you doing with your migraines? I'm sure the stress of the stuff going on with your son and little grand daughter isn't helping any! Have you found anything that helped? I can't believe $10 a pill...that's crazy! I will keep you in my prayers.
