Could use some warm thoughts or prayers for my family...

Some of you may remember that I lost my mom unexpectantly two years ago to liver cancer.

I found out last week that my Dad has prostrate cancer. We found out that it hasn't gone into his bones, and fortunately, they think he has a high chance for recovery, but they have yet to decide on treatment options, which will be decided on tommorrow..

I found out last night from my brother, that my niece had surgery for cervical cancer on the 23rd. They are waiting on test results to determine if it has spread to her uterus. She is only 22 years old.

Needless to say, this holiday season has been pretty stressful....any prayers or warm thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Sorry you are hearing such distressing news, especially during this time of the year. Two of my family members were diagnosed with cancer this year, and both had successful outcomes from their treatment.

Hope your dad and niece hear encouraging news from their doctors, and wishing them good health in the New Year ahead.

So sorry for you! I lost my mom to cancer, too. My dad has had prostate cancer for years ... fortunately it has been mostly slow growing. He is getting Lupron injections every few months to further slow the growth, but he has opted not to have surgery or radiation. After your mom, the "C" word is all the more terrifying, but hopefully his will also be slow growing and treatable. That's so sad about your niece. That is WAY too young to have to deal with those problems. Good thoughts going to you and your family ...
