| Please pray for my sick friend
Please pray that my friend will realize that his problems are originating inside of him, and that he needs medication to get his health back. This is an easy thing to convince a physically ill person of, but his problems are psychological. He may be schizophrenic, since his brothers are. He is definitely paranoid. When I first met him, and we were dating, he talked about his ex-girlfriend harrassing him, losing jobs for him, etc. Now, even though I have loaned him a lot of money, and talked to him on the phone collect when he was suicidal, he doesn't trust me at all, mostly because I became friends with his mother. He has moved back in with her because he can't keep a job, but he thinks we are plotting against him whenever we talk. The other day he told me not to call him anymore. I have obviously taken the place of the other ex, as the object of his hatred. It is breaking my heart to know that he has no friends, and just sits all day in the house thinking everyone hates him and wants to send him to jail or a mental hospital. All we want is for him to get medication that will help him like it has helped his brothers. Please pray that someday soon he will realize that is the only way to have a better life, and that it is a blessing that there are medications available that are to help people, not hurt them. Thank you. __________________ Check out these [Only registered and activated users can see links. Thank you both. It is helping already. He called me today after telling me on Saturday never to call him again. It's a start, though we didn't get to finish the conversation due to his calling card running out. ![]() __________________ Check out these [Only registered and activated users can see links. I'll definitely pray for him. I hope he gets better. It does sound like he needs meds for his problem. My DH worked with a guy who thought the KGB, something like that was out to get him. Because of this paranoia, he kept quitting jobs. It was very sad. For a person to be in denial, not realize they have a problem is very trying on the people who care about them.

Louann, I am praying for your friend that God will hold him up above those negative feelings. Maybe now that he's in a better place, you could nudge him toward talking to someone...even a pastor, or possibly getting on some meds that will help him to cope? You are a good friend and guardian angel for sticking with him.

About a month ago, he asked his mom to take him to the doctor, but she told me they didn't let her go in the room with them, and then they told him what she wrote about his paranoia, which was a stupid thing to do in my opinion. Instead of believing her, they sent him home without meds. They may have recommended therapy, but since they told her nothing, and we can't ask him without him getting upset or lying about it, only he and the doctor know. He has seen many therapists in the past, but never sticks with one long enough to do any good. |
