Major problems @ Memolink

This started yesterday-- When I submit my answer to the trivia question, it takes me to a page that says something about a processing error. Then I log out of my account, & my bf will log into his account using his email & password. (we use same pc) Instead, it takes him to my account!! This is making me mad Doesn't matter if I close the browser & open a new one. Anyone else experiencing this??

Wink May have solution

I don't do memolink, but I think your problem is with something called cookies. Depending on your browser and settings, these pernicious cookies may be temporary or permanent.

You can set most browsers to delete such cookies when you close the browser. By default, they are kept as permanent files, placed in various directories on the pc.

Without knowing what browser you are using or what version it is, I can only give a general approach. Find all the cached files and delete them. IE will ask if you want to delete cookies, NS will have you specify cookie deletion.

Note that some cookies may be in directories that your current browser does not expect them to be in. They shouldn't be active, but they are a timebomb. For the really courageous, there are programs out there that are cookie-killers.

Good luck

Wink Procedure for IE 5.5 (or close)

Tools, Options, General, Temporary Internet Files, click on Setting and not Delete Files, click on View Files, select all files and the press [Delete]-key, answer Yes to delete selected cookies.

Close all of IE's windows and exit IE.

Worked like a charm Harry!! Thanks! Sooner or later I probably would have thought to clean out my cookie files, but it would've probably been much, much later! lol. Sandy, this might work for you too!?! Whew, I sure had a lot of junk in there, think I will start cleaning it out once a week.

memolink....only 500 more pts till I got enough for 100 bucks reward!

Cool

Thank you so much, Harry. I learn something new thanks to people like you who take the time to teach us who are less than computer savvy.

cookies

I didn't think that it would work for you as it doesn't work for me I already knew how to clean / delete cookies and figured you did so I told you how it works for me. Plus I also figured if you didn't know how to clean cookies no biggie because it probably wouldn't work for you anyways. But I am very glad it did work and I hope it continues is all. Sandy

Chatter box You're all welcome

Glad to help. That is what I love about the DoD community - we all pitch in.

Yeah, those cookies pile up and take up space. I do a clean up almost daily. For those who do BLINK and have left the Save Password box checked, this is a way to force getting the 10 point verification. You will notice that BLINK, being a nice application, removes its cookies, if you log out. But if you crashed out, they stay.

I forgot to mention, but there may be some cookies you want to keep. For those of you that like the convenience offered by sites that remember your login id and password, then you may wish to selectively delete the cookies, keeping the ones you need. Unfortunately, this requires you to examine the names of all the *.txt files in the cache. I just like the sensation of mass murdering them!

The procedure for NetScape users is different and depends upon which version of NS it is. I don't have NS on the laptop that I'm using now, so I can not give anyone the necessary steps.
