Question Where can Ebay addicts EARN POINTS by placing bids, which rewards program is best for

On another board I read that you can earn points by placing bids on Ebay auctions.

Which rewards programs do this?

Are any better than others, insofar as bids/points ratios? Do you have to actually WIN the auction, or just bid?

I checked the MyPoints page for "Try It Out" - but I didn't see anything for Ebay there.

How many rewards programs can Ebay addicts sign up - to turn their bids into points?

Lightbulb CreationsRewards and PointPool

The two I know about are:

CreationsRewards.net -> gives 5 points per bid (be sure to open a new ebay window from their daily visits page for EACH new bid to get credit).

PointPool.com -> gives 5 points per bid (need to open a new window even though their bottom frame says you will get credited for each bid. I tested with 30+ bids without opening a new window and only got 5 points).

CR's points are worth more.

Please post if you found another place giving points for ebay bidding.

Blink gives points (5 for visiting; 7500 for registering with ebay and placing a bid).

Not sure how that compares to other programs, as it takes a lot of points to redeem for anything at Blink. Also not sure how it works if you are already registered with ebay, but might be worth a look.

Points for visiting ebay are under the Huge Grab tab.

Thank you, Tim!

Say, do either of those programs award you points for having other people sign up under you? I think I might be interested in CR - is your userid there also, "crazytim"? May I use you as a referral?

I take it I don't have to actually win anything to get the points credited to my account.

Thanks, griphon!

I'm sure I'm already registered at Blink - but as you say, it takes so long to earn anything there, that for me, it isn't worth the time - it seems the pages take so long to download through Blink links, that I just can't bear it.

Big grin

As far as I'm concerned, Prima Rewards is the best. You get 25 points per bid! I am sure that Scott will concur with me.

You out there Scott??

By all means, you can use me as a referral if you join up with them.

its not the number of points, its the value. a point at creationsrewards is worth half a cent, so an ebay bid is 2.5cents. 75 points at Blink is worth less than one cent (.83 cents) figuring a $25 webbie for 225000 points. I haven't done the calculation for prima.

BLINK.com 75 pts per BID at Ebay

Hi again, Gryphon.

I might get active in Blink, I'm not sure yet. But I went to their homepage and did a search on the word EBAY, and besides that offer for signing up, there's another one - where if you make sure and click on their Blink Link, you get SEVETY-FIVE POINTS for EACH bid at Ebay.

Here's what it said in the search results:

Showing Results:*1-2**

eBay.com

Earn 5 points + 7,500 when you register and place a bid for a product today. New eBay members only. If you already signed up... use the link below to place your bids and earn even more points!

eBay.com bids

Earn 75 points for each bid placed on eBay products. Registered eBay members only - if you haven't signed up yet, use the link above. Each bid MUST be placed AFTER clicking on this link to get your points.

Hi Avan.

Thanks for sharing your math expertise with us. MAYBE those 75 points at Blink.com aren't worth it. Less than a cent?!

What if you WIN the auction? LOL - shipping and handling will be more than a penny. . .

Hi Robin.

Thanks for your endorsement of Prima Rewards. I'm not familiar with them, I don't think I've ever signed up with them -- but since you are obviously enthusiastic about them, I will check them out, and if I decide to actually register, I will use YOU as a referral.

Thanks again!

Say - is there any limit to the NUMBER of bids you can place DAILY at Ebay to earn points?

Seems like one could earn the five dollar gift certificates really fast, IF one is an Ebay addict!! How exciting!

Primarewards is AWESOME! I recommend it too. You don't have to sign up under me though. I don't mind. I just wanted to stick in my approval.

Syrinia and PokerBob, thanks for the tip. I will have to check out PrimaRewards.

I don't think I'm registered there. About a year and a half ago the point earning opportunities got so grim, unless you gave your cc to websites and unless your purchased something, that I didn't explore any of the new sites, and really except for MyPoints, I'm not very active on anything I ever signed up for.

I had NO idea that by simply placing bids that one could earn gift certificates. I wonder why MyPoints doesn't have this?

Does anyone know if there's a way to find the RESERVE-ONLY auctions on Ebay - or do you have to simply open up each and every auction?

Other than bidding on RESERVE-auctions, what's the strategy for placing unlimited bids and not winning dozens of auctions? LOL - that I cannot afford; but with the bids I do place, anyway, I should do those through a rewards program.

I'll check out PrimaRewards later tonight - it must be a very good program, as so many posters are so enthusiastic about it.

THANKS SO MUCH!

My hubby just got home and he wants to know how long I've been placing bids and not earning any points for it. How long ago did these Ebay promotions start?

He's amazed I've never heard of this until the other day, on another board.

Were these point earning opportunities available over the last holiday season? And even before?

begged borrowed or stolen from another board,

eBay points to Webcerts - a comparison
I made this for my own use, but thought others might be interested. It's a comparison of how many eBay bids it would take to get Webcertificates at various programs.

$10 Webcertificates
Program (points for WC) / Points per bid = # Bids for WC
PrizeBuddies (11150) / 26 = 429
CreationRewards (2300) / 5 = 460
ClicktotheMagic (2150) / 5 = 430
PrimaRewards n/a
Blink (96000) / 75 = 1280

$20 Webcertificates
Program (points for WC) / Points per bid = # Bids for WC
PrizeBuddies (22250) / 26 = 856
CreationRewards (4300) / 5 = 860
ClicktotheMagic (4300) / 5 = 860
PrimaRewards (23400) / 25 = 936
Blink (182000) / 75 = 2427

$50 Webcertificates
Program (points for WC) / Points per bid = # Bids for WC
PrizeBuddies (53450) / 26 = 2056
CreationRewards (10300) / 5 = 2060
ClicktotheMagic (10750) / 5 = 2150
PrimaRewards (54400) / 25 = 2176
Blink (440000) / 75 = 5867

$100 Webcertificates
Program (points for WC) / Points per bid = # Bids for WC
PrizeBuddies (105450) / 26 = 4056
CreationRewards n/a
ClicktotheMagic (21500) / 5 = 4300
PrimaRewards (105400) / 25 = 4216
Blink (750000) / 75 = 10000
