SurvivorStakes Will Be Closing!

Here is a letter I got tonight.
Greetings,

This is the hardest email SurvivorStakes has ever had to send, but it
needs
to be done. As of 12:00am, Feb. 1st, 2002 SurvivorStakes must be
closed
forever. We've always had two goals for SurvivorStakes -- make a fun,
free
game that lets real people win cash on the internet, and make enough
money
from advertising to pay for prizes and still have enough left to put
dinner
on the table.

SurvivorStakes has been a great success on the first point -- thousands
of
people have won tens of thousands of dollars in cash prizes on
SurvivorStakes in the past year. Many more will surely win before
January
31st. But we haven't been able to meet our second goal; SurvivorStakes
simply hasn't been able to put dinner on our table. It's been hard,
but
we've come to realize that SurvivorStakes will never be able to do
that. As
much as we enjoy bringing SurvivorStakes to you -- like everybody else
we
have to pay the bills.

Everyone who wins a prize on SurvivorStakes will still receive prompt
payment for their wins. Even if you win the grand prize at 11:59pm on
Jan
31st, you will receive your check. This includes Bonus Buddy wins.
However
SurvivorStakes will no longer accept new players or new Bonus Buddies.

We're still committed to our two goals -- that's why we've taken what
we
learned from SurvivorStakes and created a new game -- LuckyDuck. We
think
it's light-years more fun than SurvivorStakes ever was, and that it can
help
us make winners out of all of you and out of us too. Please come over

I hate that. I play Lucky Duck, but I don't like it nearly as much as Survivor Stakes!

This is the first one I play every morning. I'm sorry to see it go. If I play through January though, I might have enough to reach the $10.00 payout. I've made $30.00 from them in the past. I don't like LuckyDuck as well either.
