Angry mypoints-last mintue ditch

hi! folks guess what??. i just tried to log in to my mypoints account to redeem my points & i get the meaage that my account has been disabled. is this last minute stra.. to prevent peop[le from redeeming their points as my points will expire tomorrow??

Hmm... well, neither my daughter nor myself have points that expire tomorrow so I can't comment on them not wanting you to spend those that are, but neither of our accounts have been disabled.

I recently cashed out for a webbie and it was in my email in less than 2 weeks (I was surprised too - I figured it'd take more like 4 weeks!). My daughter is planning on cashing out again next week sometime - I don't think she'll have a problem either.

If your account says that it is disabled, you should try calling them or at least email so that they can extend the date on your points while they reopen your account. I know that people have lost their accounts for clicking on illegal links (links that were not sent directly to you in an email) or for having more than one person in their home with an account (my daughter is over age 18 & lives on her own which is why we each have an account). Good luck in getting this resolved!

If there is no REASON to disable your account (e.g.Kat's comments re: illegal links, dual accounts,etc) I would definetly call them. That really is bad business to do to honest users. Sometimes (I've found,) if you complain in a polite but whiny way, they'll even comp you for your trouble with a few hundred points. Good luck!

I too cannot comment on the my points expiring .. as i have more time

but the only reason i can think of is as kat stated .. illegal use of my points !

yes, you can only have one acct. per household. if they find two or more, sometimes they will disable one acct (usually they keep the one that was first set up).

I don't think that is correct rhea. My DH and I have had accounts for a couple of years now and I've even called on his behalf when he has had a problem with his points. This is from the MyPoints FAQ on their site:


Can every member of my family have their own account?
Yes. Of course, each individual must be at least 18 years of age to join and must live in one of our supported countries. Each member must personally operate the individual account, and only the registered user may access the account. You cannot combine Points from separate accounts. Also, users who share a computer should remove their Member Key when they leave the MyPoints site and they must then refresh their Member Key each time they log on. Otherwise, someone else could be earning Points for the last member that used that computer!

Unhappy This just happened to me...

MyPoints disabled my account. They never contacted me or gave an explanation. Finally called and was told by CS that I would have to fax a copy of a picture ID (passport or DL) . You can black out all but name & DOB. I wasn't too happy about it, but I finally did it because I didn't want to lose my hard earned points!
In about a week, they sent an email that my account was restored.
I'll bet they will ask you to send your ID. Don't feel like you are being singled out. ...

thank you everybody!.i havent heard from mypoints yet. send them numerous emails & tried to contact them on the number posted here but to no avail. i would keep trying though....
