We would like to thank all of the MyPoints members who have donated Points to the American Red Cross service effort. Your response has been overwhelmingly generous. Over a two-day period the MyPoints member donations to the Red Cross have exceeded $150,000.

I donated 200 points and then was curious about the value as I really want to donate all of my hard earned points, but they didn't show the value, so I emailed them. I don't understand from the reply that I received how they can say that over 150,000 has been donated. Here is their response to my dollar value question:

Since Points do not have a direct dollar value we cannot comment on the
exact value of each donation made by our individual Members. Points are
very valuable and each and every donation will help tremendously!

I can however confirm that your response has been overwhelmingly
generous. Over a two-day period the MyPoints member donations to the Red
Cross have exceeded $150,000.

We at MyPoints offer our prayers and pledge our support for our
wonderful nation. Together we will get through this terrible ordeal

I donated 800 points and at the time I was thinking "how can my $8.00 or so make a difference?", however, seeing that the total donated is up to $150,000.00 makes me feel better. It all adds up.

I agree that is pretty confusing. If they can't say what each point is worth how do they know how much to donate?

Just a reminder, My Points was bought out no too long ago by the parent company of United Airlines, therefore this tragedy is especially close to them. With the airline industry expected to suffer financially from the events of last week I wonder if My Points will have to close up shop. I'd gladly give all my points and gift certificates rec'd to date if it could bring back some of those innocent victims.

I got this email,,,glad to hear there are alot who are donating. You see good come out of people when something like this happens. I am donating from every point site that I have. Even doing the click for free daily.
