| When I logged in to check my balance on Sunday, it informed me I needed to check my email for a new password. When I checked, it was there with a note saying they had a breech of security and were asking me to log in with this password they gave me and then change my old password. No problem. But when I logged in yesterday, I happened to notice that they also changed my account number and expiration date for my card ... Anyone else have this happen? I emailed them to ask if they would be issuing new cards to reflect the change of account information, but haven't heard back from them? I really don't want to have to pay for a new card when THEY changed this information, and yet I am pleased they are staying on top of their security issues. I'd hate to try and use my card and have it declined ... how embarrassing!! ~Cheryl

| I just got an email from them yesterday explaining this. I have not yet gone in to check up on my account, but according to the email, they are changing everyone's account numbers as a security precaution. I don't know how they will go about that with the cards. I usually get a quick response back from Webcertificate CS, so hopefully you'll hear back soon. Oh, I just noticed the phone number at the bottom of this email for their CS. Maybe you'll get a faster response if you call? Here is the email they sent me: Dear Jennifer, We're writing to inform you that we have issued you a new Webcertificate account number, and transferred your current balance to this new account. Your security is very important to us. Because of the recent series of online hack attacks and viruses, we have and will continue to upgrade Webcertificates' security. Customer passwords are now being reissued on all Webcertificate accounts. As a precaution, your old account and password will no longer work. To obtain your new account number, and have full use of your Webcertificate account, just follow these steps: 1. Visit our site ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]) and click on "My Account." 2. When prompted, enter your user name and current password. 3. We will instantly send you an email message that contains a temporary password. 4. Use this temporary password to log in, and immediately create a new permanent password of your choice. 5. After you successfully update your password and are logged in, you can obtain your new account number by visiting the "Shopping" area of our site. Your new account number and expiration date are located on the ShopBar at the bottom of the page. You're receiving this new account number as a security precaution because we have reason to believe that some Webcertificate account information may have been inappropriately accessed. We want to be perfectly clear: it is your Webcertificate information, not your credit card information, which may have been accessed. In fact, Webcertificate was founded on the idea that it is safest to never store credit card information, and Webcertificate does not. Additionally, your Webcertificate dollars are 100% guaranteed. Before making these changes, we evaluated your transaction history and confirmed that your account has been used properly and only by you. It is for your benefit that we're taking this extra security measures. Ernst & Young, one of the industry's most reputable e-commerce security consultants, has recently audited our security practices. And you can be certain that your security and trust remain our top priority. We apologize for the inconvenience that these additional security measures may have caused. Thanks for your continued loyalty. If you have any questions, please feel comfortable to email us at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now], or call our Customer Service Center at 800-511-1781. Sincerely, The Webcertificate Customer Service Team |

| The young lady I spoke with expalined that everyone will have an account number change and everyone will receive and email soon. When I registered my new password and got in to my account I DID have a new account number. My MAIN CONCERN HERE was how I would use my plastic card?? I had to request a new one be sent to me(free of charge) and it will take about 15 working days to arrive. SO AVOID YOURSELF SOME EMBARASSMENT and don't use your old plastic card(it will be rejected); request a new one asap!!!!
