| I am wondering if any of you could tell me your experiences with different credit cards. My parents already have a Visa, but they are interested in getting a different one -- such as a points one. They have looked into a Discover Cashback Card and a Mastercard Frequent Flyer Miles card. I was wondering if you know of any other cards that are good deals. They preferable want one with a low APR and no annual fee...or at least a small fee. Thanks for all your help, Matt PS. Has anyone tried the MyPoints Mastercard?? PSS. Does anyone know about something called Visa Scorecard??

| I have 2 cards that get rewards - one is a Toys R Us Visa - we get 1% back on all purchases in the form of GC to Toys R Us - great if you have kids and need to get toys on a regular basis. The second one is an AMEx which gets Delta miles. We got it first without a fee (for a year), and when the year was up I called to cancel, they offered me a similar card (a regular one, not gold), without a fee. We get 1 mile for every dollar we spend, so you can get a free ticket fairly quickly (depending on how much you spend). |

| There are a number of reward based credit cards out there. Picking one can be a matter of taste. First question is if you pay the balance in full every month. If yes, ignore the rate information, and analyze by reward. If you don't pay them off in full, a low rate card is your best bet, and most low rate cards don't offer rewards. That being said, get a Discover card for the 1% rebate and for the fact that in many areas of the country (Chicago where I live for example), you can get $50 cash with any purchase at the major supermarkets, and it is considered as a purchase not a cash advance. Way better than an ATM card. Then you have to decide what type of reward card you want. Points (like Mypoints), unrestricted cash like Discover, or Fleet Visa (up to 2% cash rebate), or airline miles. Personally, I like cash back since it has no restrictions. Look at the amount or reward you will typically earn in a year, and don't forget to account for the fee (if any). Lastly, if you decide to get a Citibank based Visa, look into [Only registered and activated users can see links. When you apply for the card, go through a reward site like Netflip for cash or points just for getting the card. Good Luck Rich |

| my personal favorite, and i've looked at a LOT, is the Milesone card by capital one. 3.9% intro rate, 9.9% fixed, $19/year, and you earn FFMiles that are good for five years. you can fly RT with as few as 18,000 miles (within a zone). | I can tell you one to NOT bother with (in my opinion). I have a NextCard Visa, and they just offered me the "opportunity" to sign up for their own rewards system. But I'd have to pay $29 per year to join. Huh? This is a "reward"? No, thanks. |

| Sheraton's Starwood Preferred Guest program has a free American Express card that earns one point for every dollar you spend on the card. Don't want Starpoints? Then you can transfer them to most of the major airlines' frequent flyer programs at a rate of 1:1. So you end up earning one frequent flyer mile for the airline of your choice for every dollar you spend. And there's no annual fee for the first year and it's only $30 after that! This is a great way to finish off a free ticket if you only need a few thousand points on a particular airline. Check out [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or
