MrThrifty, HELP! I'm sitting here salivating over how to spend all the points I am going to rack up. Went to the web site to look around and found the rewards chart for the Points Stretcher rewards, but that is further divided into Opportunity points, Executive points, Select points, etc. Checking the Opportunity points rewards which I assume are the ones you mentioned for 6000 pts for one night and 10500 pts for 2 weekend nights, I find either few or no matching locations for the states I checked. I went back to your earlier post and checked for Denver in August and I can only find Embassy Suites (I think that was where you said you were staying) for the Executive rates which are double the Opportunity rates. Oh my, the ole' head is spinning now. What am I missing or am I just really dense (don't answer that last part!). Thanks in advance for your help.

look by state rather than city (if that's what you did the first time). i'm finding 4 point stretcher hotels in the denver area for august.

availability is limited, especially in the summer. if you email me the locations you are wanting to stay at, i'd be happy to help you find out participating hotels.

Thanks MrThrifty. I was just looking in general, not for a specific time period, but the way it looks a certain location falls into one of the points "categories" and then either is or is not available for a certain month. The cities I was interested in are Washington DC, Portland, ME and Tampa, FL. Was trying to locate properties under the "Opportunity" points for the 2 nights for 10500. Thanks for your help.

go to this page, [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] ... and select a month for travel. the next page you'll be able to select the state where you wish to find a point stretcher award. if you've already done that, i'm not sure where else to look. that's your best bet.

there are six hotels available in DC in august (if they are available in august, then they are likely to be available in later months, too). i also found three doubltree hotels in tampa that accept point stretcher awards, and there are NO hotels in maine that even accept the point stretcher awards. unfortunately, the cheapest award i can find in portland, maine, is the executive award.

i'd pay for a trip to maine and get the most value for your points by using point stretcher awards instead of wasting them on an executive award. that's just my opinion, though.

Thanks for looking for me MrThrifty. I found those hotels on the page you were referring too and got excited at the prospects of staying at such nice places free. It wasn't until I went to the actual page to redeem the rewards that I found out that those properties do not apply under the "Opportunity Points" rates.
Checking those rates there are no listings in DC, also none in ME and though there are 4 in FL they are not near cities that I would likely be visiting. I also checked MD and VA since that is the area I am from. They each had 3 listings but they are primarily in lesser known cities (with the exception of Richmond, VA). Oh well, I should be able to find something somewhere, probably a Hampton Inn since they seem to be the ones most likely to be listed under "Opportunity Points". Not as nice as a Hilton but they aren't bad, and hey for free it will be even nicer. Thanks again for your help.

I clicked on the link to find the point stretcher locations in Washingon DC in August and September. There were 6 properties listed. In order to redeem points for a certificate you need a code which you have to get from the Point Stretcher chart on that same page. I had to check all 5 of the categories to find the six properties. One was under the Select Code category so you can stay one weekend night for 15000 pts or 2 nights for 27000 pts, one property was under the Classic code which costs 18000/33000 pts for 1 or 2 nights and four of the porperties were under the Premium code meaning they cost 21000/39000
for 1 or 2 nights. Maybe I am doing something wrong but I don't know what it is.

Could you explain this a little more. Did you just call and say you wanted to upgrade and give them the promo code? Or was there more to it??

sushiosushi is welcome here
leenga: if you're already a member, just call and tell them you received a promotion via email and the promo code was "ewrdc". they might ask for your address, etc. you can remind them to send you a gold card since you'll be upgraded to gold, but they should be sending it automatically. after you get off the phone with them, you can check your online statements at hilton and it should show you as gold instead of the regular one. if its not there in say 5 min. (should be instantaneous after the CS enters it for you) then you can call back to make sure they entered it in the right field (some CS agents enter it in the wrong place).
