Memolink "wrong" answer on Carl Lewis

Sorry everyone...Memolink just sent me an e-mail saying the correct answer was 8...I disagree, here is the letter I am sending them. Sorry if I gave you all the wrong information...I think Memolink is wrong though...so there! lol

LETTER TO MEMOLINK:

I got my list of correct/incorrect trivia questions today and I just wanted you to see the stats that I have on Carl Lewis.

I answered 9 on the trivia question, and the e-mail said I had this wrong and that the correct answer was 8.

Here is the information that I have:

Olympic games

9 golds : 4 at long jump (1984, 1988, 1992, 1996), 2 at 100 m (1984, 198, 2 at relay (1984, 1992), 1 at 200 m (1984)
1 silver : 200 m (198

Can you please adivse which is really the correct answer?

I'm probably out to lunch here, but didn't the question say "spanning 3 Olympics ", specifically?

So 1996 (fourth Olympics) wouldn't count, if they're being tricky, and that brings it down to 8 gold medals.

Nah. They aren't subtle enough to do that. Are they?

(On the other hand, if that's not how the question was stated, then I'm just having a brain hiccup, so disregard.)
