Ok... So we all know how much I hate MyPoints, right? (see other MyPoints threads for clues) Anyway, despite that, I went through them to purchase a WebCertificate today. Stupid, I know, considering the **** they always put me through, but I needed to purchase $70+ worth of ties for our wedding party and figured I might as well get WC points, since those credit the very next day without hassle. Anyway, I click on WebCertificate at mypoints... see the screen that says "100 points for purchase over $20"... yada yada... you know the drill. So I go buy my $20 WC (I am breaking up my order into 4 groups of $20, spread out over 4 days so I can get 400 points). All is well. My receipt pops up, I see the text that says "Click here for your 100 points"... I do that... and then... THE BLUE POP UP said that I will receive my 50 POINTS shortly!!!!! What the O(&*) happened to the 100 points?????????? NOwhere did it say that the points received would be reduced!!!!! GGGGRRRRRRR!!!! Not only that, but now they have a screen that instead of taking you directly to the 3-day vacation, it gives you your choice of teh vacation OR a "grab bag" of merchandise and prizes. Naturally, I clicked on that... AND IT'S A BUNCH OF STUPID JUNK AND MAGAZINES WHERE YOU PAY SHIPPING FOR EVERYTHING!!!! Talk about getting the shaft! God, I hate them! I just mailed off another one of my polite-but-pixsed e-mails to them... If they don't respond and fix the darn thing (I know, I'm dreaming), I'm going to have to go postal. This is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! Stay away from MyPoints. God, just stay away!

The nose has taken a dive, the hull is burning in the sky... Look for your nearest fallout shelter... I'm going to change my sig to say "Dear MyPoints, Please do your part for world peace. Please burn in ****. Sincerely, Jonny Rotten."

Yeesh... I suppose we're only allowed to expound upon MyPoints's greatness here? I used to praise them. Honestly, I did. I used to absolutely love them. And to be fair, they do indeed send out their prizes very quickly when ordered, and they used to be very helpful with e-mails and questions. However... I have noticed a downturn during the past year (the past several months especially), and judging by private e-mails and posts on this board, I am not the only one. It is obvious to many that the program is disintegrating a bit. I know we all can't have everything we want, and I'm not asking for the world. I'm simply asking for straightforwardness from the company, which I (and many people) have not received in some time. If they promise points within a certain time frame, I want those points within that time frame. If they promise a certain amount of points for a purchase, I expect that exact number of points unless a notice is posted saying otherwise. A company should keep their promises and alert faithful patrons when a major shake-up will occur, and they should be timely and helpful in their customer service e-mails. All of these things are common sense in a solid business. Neither of these things have happened for many of us in quite a long time, and as consumers, we DO have a right to share our experiences and warn others about potential pitfalls in dealing with a company. Did you tell people to "stop whining" when the first person posted that CyberRebate did not follow through on their agreement? Just wondering. It's great to give positive feedback to a company, and honestly, I do that. I use PlanetFeedback.com to congratulate and encourage various businesses I have been pleased with -- and those actually DO outweigh the companies I dislike. It's just that MyPoints, for me, is NOT one of those companies who keeps people happy across the board. I would guess that about 50% of us are happy with them and 50% of us hate their practices. I would love to cash out, and I will definitely do so... once all of my points are properly credited. I intend to receive that which was promised at the time of purchase first. That is just common sense. You get what you pay for -- and I haven't gotten mine yet. If you turn the other cheek when points aren't credited, that is your business... but I can't do that. So until everything is proper, I will remain a member. There's no point in just letting 400 points that are up in tbe air evaporate. Congratulations on your success with MyPoints. If only the rest of us could be so lucky. Allison

UPDATE: Have heard nothing regarding these points thus far. I'm a bit frightened, since they've now taken the Max Points away without warning (just like Daily Tour). I'm afraid the whole thing will collapse. Ugh.
