Question

Does anyone know of any sites which offer cash back or discounts on purchases at Amazon? I can't seem to recall any off the top of my head... any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hmm? I just went through MyPoints a couple of weeks ago and used their Mall.com link to shop through Amazon, earned 500 MyPoints for doing so ... Now for the life of me, I can't find the Mall.com link on the MyPoints site?

Anyone??

Have a great day!

I have used [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] and they have sent me a check - and it didn't bounce. I continue to use them for Amazon purchases.

They pay quarterly and the maximum per purchase you can get for Amazon purchases is $10.

If your purchase is less than $100 you get 10% back.
If your purchase is $100 or more - you get $10 back.

If you made three separate $100 purchases, you'd get $30 back.

If you refer someone to them, you get $2.00.

Hope that helps.

The Mall.com link at MyPoints is in department/megastores. You still get 500 for the first purchase 250 for the second purchase and one point per $ for subsequent purchases.

When the mall site loads, look up in the left corner and see a box that says "all stores". Click on that and Amazon is at the top.

Lisa,

When you go to the Department/Megastore page, it is at your far right, under "Great Offers". It's the second one down.

This is interesting.

We've made a direct inquiry with Amazon regarding the following paragraph in their Affiliate Operating Agreement:

Quote:
In addition, you may not: (a) directly or indirectly offer any person or entity any consideration or incentive (including, without limitation, payment of money (including any rebate), or granting of any discount or other benefit) for using Special Links on your site to access our site (e.g., by implementing any "rewards" program for persons or entities who use Special Links on your site to access our site);
They told us absolutely not and that they never make exceptions to that rule. I would of course love to be able to offer rewards on Amazon purchases through our program ( Prima Rewards ).

I have re-inquired with their affiliate services address on 5/29/2001 and asked again if they ever make custom arrangements with rewards sites or allow for exceptions. I have not received a reply yet, however, will keep you guys informed when I hear back from them.

This is a reply I received from Amazon (this is similar to a previous inquiry I had made). They don't allow cash back sites for Amazon purchases.

My Advice, be careful in making purchases through Amazon for this purpose and be prepared that you may not receive your rebates if they discover what the program is doing.

As to Prima Rewards, we operate strictly by the book and are unwilling to deviate from merchant terms. We of course would love to offer Amazon as a shopping site in our program, however, until their policy changes, it won't happen on our site.

Quote:
Dear Scott,

Hello again from the Associates Program.

Thank you for taking the time to write back to us with your inquiry
regarding paying some of your referral fees back to customers as a
form of rebate or coupon. I apologize for the delay in responding to
your messages. I'm certain that your idea would meet with some
success, but we've decided against working with any Associates who
employ this rebate/coupon model.

Under the Associates Program, Associates may choose to recommend
either individual products or our entire service to their visitors in
exchange for a small percentage of the resulting sales. The goal is
to introduce our services to new customers this way, helping them find
us through sites that offer value-added editorial assistance or which
provide trusted advice in choosing e-commerce sites.

Given our relatively slim retail margins and our strong discount
pricing, the referral fees we pay can only be sustained as we meet new
customers through our Associates. Many of these customers return to
us later for items unrelated to those recommended by the Associate web
site, and this future business helps to offset the referral fees we
pay. For this reason, we're able to pay nearly all of our margins to
Associates in referral fees.

When an Associate re-directs these fees to the customer, it changes
the entire relationship in ways we did not intend. Under the 'coupon'
model customers actually have a dis-incentive to return and shop with
us directly, undermining the expectation of repeat business that is
necessary to fund the program. Worse, these unintended coupons can
lead to the mistaken impression that our direct-sale prices are too
high - when in fact the net price after 'coupon' often works out to
less than our cost.

In order to keep the Associates Program viable for the long-term,
we've concluded that we cannot continue our Association with
coupon-oriented sites. Those we've identified have now left the
program, and we are no longer accepting applications from new
coupon-oriented web sites.

<<SNIP>>
Section removed specifically pertaining to our program.

We hope you're able
to make other arrangements for your visitors and thank you again for
considering Amazon.com for your needs.

Best regards,

Re: Amazon Cash Back Sites?

I looked at the website and all I see are coupons for Amazon.
I'm not sure how you got cash back.
Can you post a url where these terms are mentioned:

If your purchase is less than $100 you get 10% back.
If your purchase is $100 or more - you get $10 back.

Re: Amazon Cash Back Sites?

You can join a site like [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now].

They offer a 2% rebate for all purchases at Amazon that you make when clicking through your personal shopping page at their site.

There are over 200 other online stores where you also get rebates like iTunes, Office Depot, Borders, GameStop and others.

It is free to join and as soon as you earn $10 rebates on your purchases from the combined stores, you get a check.

Re: Amazon Cash Back Sites?

Guys forget about amazon cash back sites. How about you help feed hungry kids, just for shopping at amazon.com? Visit iamtheendofpoverty.com and click on the Stores link towards the top. Every time you just go through there and then shop at amazon.com, amazon.com pays them commission fees, which goes towards helping end poverty.
