I received my Free Ride Web Certificates today and was unable to put them into my Web Certificate account. I got the following ERROR message:


We are sorry, but we are unable to process your request:

This webcertificate may have been locked. Please contact our customer service department and reference code L500.


I called customer service and was told that all the Free Ride Web Certificates will not be useable until at least the end of next week. It is not the fault of Free Ride but a technical problem with Web Certificates due to a move of their physical plant.

Just wanted you to know that IF this should happen to you IT IS NOT YOU!!!! Hope this has helped some of you!!!

It took only a week...

NOT BAD!

guess I have to call too

I was able to deposit both my freeride and long overdue mypoints webcertificates on friday. They were added to the account and my balance was correct. When I went there today both of these same wc's are showing as added but the account balance is now less that same amount, different from what it read on friday. So, they are holding both the freeride and mypoints wc's hostage and I already spent them on saturday! Thanks for the heads up on this, I never would have thought to go back and check if you didn't post this message.

Did it occur to you that it was less the same amount because you spent them? You wouldn't have been able to spend them if they weren't really there.

Do you think this was why my daughter wasn't able to spend anything from her FreeRide/Webcerts card yesterday?
She tried at Nordstroms and Penney's but it wouldn't work on either one.

I already had money

in my wc account and the purchase I made was for more than my friday deposit. It doesn't say I have any pending purchases either. I did call tho and after 10 to 15 mins on hold finally got a real person. They suggested I check my acct again because it was reading correctly. The person I spoke to said to hit refresh once or twice and the correct amount should show on the balance. Gosh, the last thing I need is a "bounced" webcertificate for a government purchase! Too bad wc doesn't offer overdraft protection.

It is really pretty clear that the WC can't be used when you get that "locked" message. It appears that the problems a lot of you are mentioning are totally different than the one I brought up. Unfortunately it seems that WC is having some MAJOR porblems, MUCH MORE than just locked certificates that FR customers can't access! GOOD LUCK TO US ALL!!!

Thought it was just me. I ordered something online the other day using my webcertificate. I received a phone call Friday that my credit card had been declined. Rather embarassing because the amount was only $6.95. I told her to try it again, as my webcertificate balance was over $100. There had to be some mistake. Still it wouldn't go through. Now I know why. I am going to call webcertificate in the morning. They have excellent customer service and I am sure they will more than compensate us all for the problems. I will post my response tomorrow.
