I am so mad about the Mypoints Mastercard! Last week I finally broke down and applyed for, and was approved for the Mypoints Mastercard. I received 250 Mypoints when I was approved, which I was pretty happy with until I got this e-mail today offering 700 points just for applying PLUS another 700 points upon approval, for a total of 1400 points!!! I need some advice, if I call Mypoints and complain am I just wasting time or do you think that they will credit me the extra 1150 points? Has anyone ever had a situation like this before? Please Help!

I applied and was approved for this c.c. I have been using it for about 4 months but I thought that I should let all of you know that applied, that when I received my first bill, there was a "creditguard fee" of 19.99. I called and had it removed. The second and third bill came, and the "creditguard fee" of 19.99 was on there again and there was no credit for the first 19.99. I called and told them that I cancelled it on the first month. They told me that they had no proof of me cancelling it and when I said that I didn't order it in the first place, the c.s. rep stated "It was a box when you applied that you had the option of checking and you checked it." I swear up and down that there was no such box when I applied. The third rep reported that she DID cancel the "creditguard" but could not refund the previous 3 months because I had agreed to it when I applied. Don't really know what to do in my case to get my $60.00 back, but I just wanted to let ya'll know to be aware of this when you receive your first bill. One other thing, the site doesn't tell you - you do not receive points for balence transfers which also screwed me. I do like the card and the low interest rate, but I have to say that the c.s. at nextcard are not much help. They are a pain to deal with more than anything! Good luck! Rhea |

I have had this card for several months and have not had any of the problems you speak of. I do remember, however, it clearly says you do not get points for balance transfers (but then again, I have no balance to transfer) because a transfer counts as a cash advance and cash advances do not earn points. At some point, I heard they were offering points for a balance transfer, but that was a special deal. I signed up quite a while before the larger points offer, so I don't feel terrible about losing out on it. I never got charged for a credit guard fee, but I always make sure I read over a form before I submit it to make sure there are no boxes I want checked or that boxes are checked that should be. It is possible that at different times the offer rewards and the application varies.
