In my opinion MyPoints will be out of business soon if many people do this. AmTrak is going to be very upset. I will pass and I am keeping my MyPoints totals very low because I feel sure they are on the way out...

Honestly, I would've bought the ticket anyway

I do not have a car, and take the train to work occasionally for my weekend job. THe pts. were just gravy for me. =)

Used the e-mail link and the link on Earn Points/Travel Center, and got 4900 points overnight for spending $2.40 for two tickets. Once you arrive at Amtrak via Mpoints, I went to Amtrak home (upper left), then to Search Specials, then type in rail sale. A link to Amtrak's Home Page should show up and the link for rail sale should be on the left. I bought two tickets for $2.40 and was credited with 2450 points.

I just tried clicking on the Amtrak link through Mypoints, and I get an error message.

Has Mypoints shut this offer down??????
