Corganiacs has great potential
How to tell the difference between reward emails and junk emails

I opted in for emails from Jackpot, Memolink, Sweepsclub, and somewhere else. I cannot tell what's what. How do I know if it is a paid email/pts email or some junk mail I signed up from a mailing list for a contest?

If anybody on this board opted for emails from those rewards programs I listed, please list some suggestions/hints.

Thanks In Advance
Corgie

Memolink is very easy to tell (can't give you any hints on the others, sorry). All the ones I get have "MemoMail" as sender. They are either a single ad or a series of three different ads and clearly state "get 2 points for visiting" plus whatever the sign-up bonus is.

I only "visit," never sign up for any of the offered services/products. Just click on the single ad link or scroll through and click on all three links in combined-style mails. Quick and easy -- assuming MemoLink ever pays off -- but that's a whole 'nother story!

Have fun and good luck!

P.S. Yes, yes, I know that ML would have more chance of paying off if I signed up for stuff occasionally... I probably have done some free offers with them in past, and might have actually bought an item from an ad now that I think about it.

I know with Sweepsclub there is usually no way to tell if the email's from them or not without opening it (I've emailed them about this problem). If you have an account with a program such as hotmail, where you can literally get hundreds of junk mails a day, that's impossible to do.

I have an email account through my isp that I use specifically for points programs. I get NO spam - except that Blink has started sending a bunch of junk mails that you can't opt out of. That makes mine easy.

My husband, on the other hand, has a hotmail account. He doesn't want an email through our isp because he'd have to learn to use outlook So he opened a separate email just for sweepsclub. He only has to check it once a week or so and doesn't give it out anywhere else. So far, so good. A few pieces of junk mail may eventually filter in, but not near the bulk that he gets in his other account. If it does get bad, he can close it, open another and start over.

I also have a separate yahoo account that I use just to sign up for junk mail (freebies, contests, etc.). That keeps a lot of junk mail from my main account.

My Hotmail account has been inundated with junk mail from the start, even though I never used it to sign up for anything. But since I use it for a couple of programs I like, I have been hesitant to change it. Guess I will just have to bite the bullet.

Question

Has anyone gotten any emails from Sweepsclub recently? I used to get at least one every couple of days, as I opted in to everything, but I haven't even gotten one in over a week.

I've been getting them regularly - sometimes for points, sometimes not. I got 2 today (one might have been from yesterday).

Try going in again to make sure everything is checked. If it is, click to opt out, then go back and recheck all the categories - you should start getting it again.

Thanks for the suggestion. Everything is still listed as opting in. I wrote to customer service a little while ago. If they don't respond, I will try to opt out then in again.
