Linkshare is an affiliate program. They act as a middleman between the companies who you see in banner ads (or other text-based ads with links), and the sites that get paid to run them. For instance, Dealofday has ads for various merchants on its site. It might go through an affiliate program like Linkshare to get the banners and links. That way they can get ads from a bunch of different merchants in just one place. When someone makes a purchase by clicking through Dealofday's links, the merchant pays the affiliate program (like Linkshare), who in turn pays Dealofday. That way, instead of getting a check from every single merchant someone purchased through, Dealofday gets one check: from Linkshare. (Just for example.) Okay, now you know how some rewards programs reward you for signing up with other rewards programs? Websites can sign up as affiliates (through Linkshare) for reward programs like Blink and Memolink. They get paid for every signup through their link. Well, what's happening with Blink and Memolink is, they're not paying Linkshare for the signups their affiliates are getting. They owe money to Linkshare and those affiliates and are not paying it, or are not paying it in a timely manner. Now we're not talking about a heckuva lot of money here: Blink was paying Linkshare affiliates TEN CENTS for each new member they recruited. And Blink couldn't afford to pay it. I don't remember the exact amount Memolink was paying but it wasn't much, either. So this isn't a really good sign at all for the future of either of those programs. Becky ...hope that answered more questions than it raised!! __________________ Check out these [Only registered and activated users can see links.
