Seats are free on Sept. 11th...cost will be associated since you will have to pay for the other way if it falls on a seperate date. Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - Spirit Airlines, the largest privately-held airline in the United States, today announced it will not be charging airfare for any seat on any flight on September 11, 2002, according to the airline's CEO, Jacob Schorr. "We are saying ‘thank you’ to the American public and our valued customers for flying with us throughout this past year. Had it not been for the support of our passengers and their willingness to get back in the air after the tragedy last year, then Spirit Airlines may not have survived. We'd like to thank the public for keeping us flying, and these free seats are a token of our appreciation," said Schorr. "We know that business and personal travel continues to return and it is our intent to fully support that need on September 11 as we have every day for the past twelve years. I want to personally encourage the public to travel on September 11 and exercise our freedom as Americans," said Schorr. Reservations must be completed on-line at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] with a major credit card and/or through travel agents. Spirit will be flying a full schedule of more than 90 flights to 14 cities/markets in the United States from New York to Los Angeles to Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico. They opened their website several weeks ago to this (I think there was even a post here at DOD) and they all sold out. There was also another airline who is doing it (can't remember who) I also know there are MANY airlines offering discounts (up to half off) for that day as well! __________________ Check out these [Only registered and activated users can see links. Well, excuse me...you seem to know everything, don't you...including the fact that you think I didn't try to search for previous post...which I did. But it is what is to be expected around here, always rudeness. That's is why I have not posted on here in forever...believe me, I won't again. |

I think your information was very important and the follow up information was just as important to alert people to the fact they should not get so excited anymore. I don't think they intended to cut your post down at all. Please continue to post if you feel it is valuable information! |
