Angry Staples 10off10 "FRAUDULENT"

I redeemed my coupon at a Ma Staple's yesterday. No problems. A few minutes later, I went back to ask something and a mgr came over to me and the cashier and said the coupon was fraudulent as they just got word from the home office. Frankly, he was one of the rudest people I ever have met. To make a long story short, I paid the extra 10 bucks and he took my coupon and treated me like I was in some counterfit ring!

Chatter box worked fine for us

My son used it in the Simi Valley, CA store and it worked just fine, scanned fine and no comments were made about its use either...

Well folks it is fradulent and you all know this before u go in to the store. So when a manager treats you like that why are you surprized?

I'm glad staples is taking this seriously and I hope they crack down on these people.

I come hear for good deals but taking one time codes and trying to use them over and over is criminal.

WHOA!! Slow down there missy!

I work in an office and we buy a TON of supplies from Staples. Every so often they send me a card that I can use either in the store or online for $10 off my next purchase of $10. REMEMBER- THEY send ME the card...I never posted on the web, nor did I GET it from the web...........

well I tried to use this card and guess what? They told me it was a fake!!! I told them how I got it and that THEY HAD MAILED IT TO ME WITH MY LAST ORDER!! They told me that I was "fraudulently trying to use a fake coupon". HUH??

I think that they need to learn the proper definition of fraud- seems to me that when THEY are the ones who send the coupon and then THEY refuse to take it, THEY are the ones committin the fraud.

Not everyone here abuses these coupons and I would venture to say that VERY FEW OF US HERE DO!! I know that I personally never have and that I've often turned down "deals" cuz I thought they were morally wrong! However, before making the blanket assumption that someone is trying to use a fraudulent coupon, I'd have all the facts first.

Skyejaz,
I don't think Madgally was referring to legitimate coupons..she was specifically referring to the one posted here. There was a rather heated discussion that took place in a thread regarding the legitimacy of this particular coupon, and a few folks, myself included, forewarned potential users of this particular coupon about our unpleasant experiences (honestly thinking the coupon was legitimate.) The point being, we knew the coupon COULD be fraudulent and tried to tell people that, but got a lot of heat for stating this. If you received a legitimate coupon with an order, that is quite another story and has little to do with this post.

I wasn't directing my post to you or anyone specifally - it was known that the posted coupon was fradulent. You just had to read the fine print to know that - walking in to a store and using it was not legal:

says the standard "no copies etc on it....)"

I mean there were even posts on how to print it out in color to make it look real and stuff......

When people abuse these things all the acomplish is higher prices and less coupons in the future(legitamate ones).
