An incredible deal - back again

Yes - it previously expired (the $70 rebate) on 2/9 but now the $80 rebate is back in play for purchases from 2/14 to 2/18. The pricematch with Amex Blue makes this an unbelievable deal to pick up some extra toys.

Thank you and Sushiosushi for bringing this deal back to our attention. Just picked up the scanner (and a dry erase marker to make the order over $100 to use the $20 coupon).

Amex Blue has the 1st 6 mos at 0% interest so you can afford to wait out the rebate and pm checks.

Woohooo...lol

PM

Hi

You have to use the Amex Blue card to make the purchase. Then find the item for less at another retail store or dot com also qualifies. Printout your original invoice and the ad or webpage with the competing price ensuring there is a date on it.

Coupons and MIR are not considered in the PM process, just the original purchase price of the item. You can claim a price match up to 60 days past your original purchase date and multiple pms on an item if it keeps going lower than the $10 minimum to file a claim (see below).

Call the Amex Blue pm line at 1.800.557.8317 and get a claim number - explaining the item, where you purchased it, original purchase price (without MIR or coupons) and where you found it for less. Printing out the web page of the lower price store will have the item number, description, plus your browser will date it at the bottom.

You will need to either mail or fax these papers, (I scan and fax to 1.800.858.5971 for faster processing) ensuring that your Amex Blue pm claim number is on each page/paper.

The process takes 2-3 weeks, then you will receive a check from Amex for the difference. Rules are that the difference must be at least $10 but no more than $250 on a single item and you are allowed $1000 max in pm total per year.

Hope this helps. The Amex people at the claim phone number will explain the entire process if you wish them to; however, this is the gist of the program. You can apply for the card and receive online approval at:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

The American Express Blue Card offers the following benefits:
* Best Value Guarantee - 60-day low price guarantee including internet prices!
* Return Guarantee - 90-day return guarantee for full purchase price up to $300 per item!
* Buyer's Assurance - One full year extension of manufacturer's warranty.
* Purchase Protection - 90-day insurance on items you buy against for accidental damage to or theft
* Membership Reward Options - Every purchase earns you points toward rewards or exchange for airline miles.
* No annual fee
* 6 month introductory APR of 0% then it goes to a fixed % that is reasonable but dependent on your credit history (I will receive 9.9% fixed after the intro period).

I'm not connected in any way with Amex or Blue other than I have and use the card. The info at the bottom of the post came from their website. See the site for other terms and limitations.

Hope this helps

Big grin thanks

Okay, you talked me into it! I've been wanting a scanner and now I finally bought one, but I also decided to get that free little TV, in which case you can't use the $20 off coupon. but the TV says it's worth $70. After the rebate goes thru, $20 for a scanner AND the little TV isn't bad. I bet I can sell the little TV for more than $20!

Is this scanner any good??? Hope so!

I've never done these staples rebates before. Are they pretty simple? Does it come fast? Do I just wait till my shipment comes and then go to the online form and enter the UPC? Does anyone already have the UPC for the scanner?

Thanks DVD-man, and sushi too.

Unhappy AMEX PM PROBLEM

Hi everybody. i just got off the phone with AMEX. i have the BLUE card. the CS rep told me that since i used the $20 coupon, not the entire purchase amount was put on my AMEX and that that pricematch claim will be denied.
has anyone else had that problem? is there a way around that?
this is just stupid and this case is not "paying with different means"!!!!

HELP!!!

medgirl:

Staples rebates are somewhere between fast to average, depending (6-8 weeks). I would definitely use the online rebate process, since it guarantees you a tracking number and a way to search for your rebate status. Since staples shipping is so fast, just wait until you get the item and do the online entry, which requires you to mail in the physical UPC code to validate it.

Scanner seems to be pretty good, probably better than the memorex scanners that were also free recently.

h223: there is another coupon code out there that lets you get a free tv (5" b&W?) with $100 purchase (or some such conditions), but you can't use both the $20 off coupon and the free tv coupon, so you can get the scanner for free or the scanner and tv for $20 (plus tax).

Amex

Rostik

I haven't had a problem with using a coupon before with Amex as it usually shows up on the same line where a gift certificate or gift card would also show up. None of my pm's where mir's or coupons have been used have been denied.

I've only been asked how much the item in question was and where it was purchased, then the competitor information and price and the date of the ad or webpage.

In this instance, with the total charge being less than the scanner price (if you only bought the scanner and just something to make the total greater than $100), it may indeed bring up an issue with pm.

I am calling mine in tomorrow and will advise how it goes. It may have been better to take the free little TV offer above and get the price match of $40 to make the net <$20> instead of <$40>, excluding tax of course. Regardless, they still should have pricematched the $80 to the $59.95 and gave you that difference.

I am interested in hearing from anyone else who participated in this offer from Staples and their experience with Amex Blue and price matching on the scanner.

Talking

thanks for answering millervt.

h223: if you are interesting in getting the scanner and TV for $20 after rebate, check out [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] (they have other free stuff but the TV seemed like the best deal)
To get the TV, do a search for the sku below and add it to your cart along with the scanner, and then enter the code 71809. It should take $69.99 off your order.

5" Black & White TV with AC/DC, Silver
code:71809
sku: 394457
value: 69.99
minimum order $100+

HELP

I really wanted this and when I went to the site this morning, the visioneer scanner isn't even listed anymore. Does anyone have the Staples number I could call or can anyone give me any tips. The rebate is still listed but the scanner is no where to be found on their site. The TV is out of stock as well.

Thanks

Unhappy It appears they are gone/sold out/pulled

Good morning,

I had one in the shopping cart about 1am this morning, deciding on whether to buy another, using coupon codes for the free attache and $10 off $40, plus purchasing a needed inkjet cartridge. This way the total b4 mir would be greater than the price of the scanner and then just send the first one ordered back as the total order price was less than the price of the scanner due to the $20 coupon.

I thought there would be less issue with Amex pm (extra $40 match) if the total order $ figure was greater than the cost of the scanner; however, upon viewing the shopping cart this morning, the attache and printer cartridge are still there, but the scanner has been removed from the cart and is no longer listed (even with the search function) on the website.

So, it appears to be removed/sold out/pulled for now. The $80 rebate offer is good for those units purchased from 2/14 through 2/18, so it might payoff to check back periodically prior to the end date of the promotion to see if it has been re-listed.
