Restaurant.com: Save some money on dining Gift Certs!

Remember Cityspree? Well, [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] now sells the gc- but through Ebay. In my area, they have expanded from 1 restaurant a few months ago to about 4 now. I guess that's an improvement! Anyway, I'm sure there are areas that have more of a selection than we have here. The prices don't seem to be as low, but then those were the good ol' days!lol

Check it out! Restaurant gift certificates at discount prices...

Wish they had any restaurants in my area. None!

Hey, I'm curious for anyone who has tried this. It says that after the auction closes you check out and then print out the gift certificate. How do they keep you from printing out multiple copies OR from making copies?? Just curious.

I have purchased 120 gift certificates over the last 5 months. They prevent you from using multiple times by adding a unique id # that the merchant calls in to deactivate the GC.

You usually get a notice from them as soon as the auction is over to pay by credit card. As soon as you pay you are directed to a link to print out GC.

linky- where are you located? What do you usually pay for the gc? The ones I've seen have been about half the value...maybe a bit more...

I'm in Delaware. Not a lot of choices but I have paid as little as $5 for a $25 and 11.76 for a $50. The $50 ones come up often for one particular place so I place "snipe" bids. The GS's are good for one year, so I'm starting to buy for birthday gifts. Also, one a couple of occaisions, I've been notified that a restaurant has closed, and restaurant.com immediately refunded my money!

I am still using my cityspree gcs! I have about 6 more that expire between now and June. I have looked at restaurant.com but have never bid because of the selection. Will keep watching though.

They have a pretty good selection in my area. Some of them say "buy it now" for $5.00 and it's worth $25.00. What a deal!
