Heads up for those of you doing your own taxes and want to efile. I did my taxes at TaxACT.com at 7 am this morning for $7.95, had a message when I got home from work that they had been sent to IRS and I had a message by 6:30pm that the IRS had accepted my return and the deposit will be made into my checking account in 10 days. Can't beat that anywhere...and yes, we file long form with deductions and credits and exemptions and the works and it was EASY Just thought I would share my excitement with you all..... PS HR Block has the same service but charges $20 |

does this sight walk you step by step through the filing process or do you have to have your taxes already prepared and then enter your info. I was going to buy turbo tax but if I can do this for $8.00 I'll do this. thanx

Turbo tax for the web is similar for anyone who wants to shop around. [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] I do my taxes here every year. They save your info so you do not have to fill out the same info over and over each year. You just fill in your info and they do the calculations and figuring! They also check to make sure everything is correct. I did my taxes yesterday am. (long form --- self employed) finished in 30 minutes and refund should be direct deposited in 10 --16 days. Although from experience it usually does not take that long if you file early. They also Have Quicken Tax Freedom. If your income is below $25,000 you can file electronically for free!
